Impact Giakoumakis had a solid season opener Saturday as he led his side with four shots (one on target). This performance came against a Crew side that sent him home last season in a three-match series where he provided four goal contributions. Coming off a 19-goal campaign, Giakoumakis figures to be a crucial player for Atlanta this season.

Brad Guzan - Concedes once in win Guzan made two saves and allowed one goal in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Columbus Crew.

Impact Guzan's 2023 campaign was ended by Columbus in November in a three-match series where he conceded eight goals. Despite Saturday's loss he fared much better as he conceded one goal and saved a Cucho Hernandez penalty in the 54th minute. Next up he faces the New England Revolution Saturday in his home opener, a side which scored once in its opening loss to D.C. United.

Impact Zawadzki started at center back in the Crew's season opener Saturday and helped his side keep a clean sheet, contributing five interceptions, two won tackles and two clearances. He appeared off the bench in his side's final four matches last season in a campaign where he was in and out of the starting XI. The Crew boast the same core defenders as last season so it's a positive sign for Zawadzki that he started and played the full match.

Jacen Russell-Rowe - Starts in season opener Russell-Rowe generated three shots (zero on goal) and two chances created in Saturday's 1-0 win versus Atlanta United.

Impact Farsi appeared in just three of the last 14 matches last season, playing a total of 21 minutes at the end of the regular season and through the playoffs. The early indications are he will feature more this season as he started and played 75 minutes in Saturday's win. He was in the starting XI over Alexandru Matan who started the MLS Cup Final last season, and Matan replaced Russell-Rowe in the 75th minute. Impact Over two months after scoring in and winning the 2023 MLS Cup Final, Cucho scored in the first match of 2024. It was an unassisted strike in the 27th minute from a difficult angle and marked the lone goal of the match.
