Impact Kovacic earned more of a rotational role throughout his first season with City, only starting in about half of his matches. However, he was still decent when on the field, being a versatile option that can drop back further or move up to attack when in the midfield. He will likely serve in the same role next campaign despite the possible exit of Bernardo Silva, as City is known to be shopping for a new midfielder, with Bruno Guimaraes being the leading candidate. That being said, Kovacic will still be on the field for most matches moving forward, although he likely won't be all that productive, as he serves in more of a pivot role, now helping much in terms of fantasy.
