Signs with Celta Vigo Alonso has signed with Celta Vigo out of free agency, according to his new club.
Impact Alonso will remain in Spain after being let go by Barcelona at the start of the summer, with the defender having linked up with Celta Vigo for the season. He saw minimal time with Barcelona last campaign, starting in three of his five appearances in La Liga play. However, this doesn't truly show his ability, as the defender is still a solid option in the defense, likely to see decent time this season in a rotational role.

Goes unused on bench Alonso (back) has gone unused off the bench in the club's past two contests.
Impact Alonso has made his return to the team, having finally overcome a back issue after 17 matches on the sidelines dating back to the start of December. However, the defender has yet to earn a minute since reaching full health, being left on the bench in both of his appearances on the team sheet. He will most likely continue on the bench in most of the club's matches moving forward, as he has only played in seven of the 19 contests he has been on the team sheet, with only four of those being starts.
