Extends contract with Vancouver Martins has signed a two-year contract extension with the Whitecaps with the option to extend for an additional year, the club announced Tuesday.

Impact Martins made just 12 appearances this season after joining Vancouver as a free agent in May, as Ryan Raposo and Marcus Godinho were often the preferred options at left-back/left wing-back. But Martins started in each of the final four games of the campaign and the 30-year-old has now resigned with the club through 2024 at least, so he is likely to begin the next campaign in the Whitecaps' first-choice XI.
