Steven Birnbaum - Unused sub Birnbaum (head) was an unused substitute during Thursday's 0-0 loss to the Philadelphia Union during the Leagues Cup.

Impact Birnbaum suffered a head injury on July 15 that had kept him out for the entire Leagues Cup. Now that D.C have been eliminated for the tournament, the defender will use the time to rest up and build back match fitness for August 20th clash with the Red Bulls.

Jose Fajardo - Signs with DC United Davis will make a move to the MLS after agreeing to a season-long contract with D.C United, with options for 2024 and 2025.

Impact Fajardo comes to DC United following a very successful stint with Cusco in the Peru Liga 1, where he scored 20 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions. DC United have been decimated by injuries in the attack, and Fajardo could form a deadly duo alongside Christian Benteke, especially since there's little clarity regarding the potential return of Taxiarchis Fountas (suspension) to the club.

He's spent most of his career playing domestically in Panama before moving to Slovakia to play for Nike Liga side DAC 1904. Since 2015, the defender had made 164 appearances, scoring 18 goals/ His international experience will bring a boost to the team's defense as he is expected to become a regular starter for D.C United.
