However, he was not at his best in the defense, constantly getting beat on the right flank by the Newcastle attackers, allowing two goals in one-versus-one positions while only making one tackle won and two interceptions.

There should be no reason that the right-back should fall out of a starting role this season, and he should continue to be a normal sight in the final line for the rest of the campaign.
