Tears ACL Dotson has torn his ACL and will miss the rest of the 2022 season, Minnesota United announced Saturday.

Impact Dotson had started all seven of Minnesota's MLS games before his injury, grabbing a goal and two assists while lining up in defensive midfield or at right back. The 24-year-old won't return this season however as he recovers from a torn ACL, which will mean more game time for Jacori Hayes in midfield and Romain Metanire (thigh) at right back.

Impact Challenges were mounting after Nashville scored an early goal and a thunderstorm delayed the match. After the break, Dotson came out and scored a solo goal in the 71st minute to equalize the match. This was the midfielder's first goal of the season, but he is not typically a threat on goal. Impact Dotson played in his second match since returning from injury and he lacked any sort of motivation. The midfielder had a great first game back, but his fatigue from not playing seems to have hit him in his second game. Dotson did manage to set up the only and game-winning goal, however, it was more or less luck than anything else. He received a bad pass that he couldn't shoot so he spun away and threw the ball across the box that happened to find open teammate Franco Fragapane. Otherwise, he provided little effort on either side of the ball and he will need to quickly regain form if he wants to stay in the starting XI for the last matches of the season.
