Headed for surgery Simeone will require surgery after suffering a fractured fibula and ankle dislocation against Burgos CF on Sunday.

Impact Simeone was expected to see plenty of first-team minutes after joining Alaves on loan from Atletico Madrid for the upcoming season. Instead, the forward faces an extended absence on the sideline due to his serious ankle/leg injury. For now, Simeone should be considered out indefinitely.

Loaned to Alaves Simeone has joined Alaves on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid, the club announced Friday.

Impact Simeone tallied nine goals and three assists in the Segunda Division while on-loan with Real Zaragoza last season, and the 20-year-old striker is now making the step up to La Liga with newly-promoted Alaves for the 2023/24 campaign.
