Barcelona routs 10-man Real Sociedad 4-0 to go top in Spain

Barcelona has cruised to a 4-0 rout of 10-man Real Sociedad to regain the Spanish league lead

Signs contract extension until 2028 Martin has signed a contract extension with Barcelona that will keep him at the club until 2028, the club announced.

Impact Martin joined Barca Atletic in the summer of 2023, playing 41 games, but was frequently called up as cover for the senior team. He made his first appearance in the friendly against Club America in Dallas just before Christmas 2023. Martin also featured in part of the US tour that summer, before making his competitive debut in the opening league game of the season away to Valencia. Since then, Hansi Flick has used him in ten additional Liga matches.

Assist in UCL start Martin assisted once to go with two crosses (one accurate) and three chances created in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Brest.

Impact In November, Barcelona's two Champions League games saw Martin start at left-back for the team. The latter game saw him perform much better, confirmed with an assist to a goal by Dani Olmo. For Martin, the issue has not been consistent in his form and playing time, perhaps the lack of the latter influencing his form's turnout.

Logs first senior assist Martin delivered an assist, sent in one accurate cross and made two clearances and one interception during Saturday's 4-2 loss against Osasuna.

Impact Martin made his third start of the season and still found his way to be a positive net despite being part of a backline that saw the opposition scoring four times as he assisted Pau Victor for his team's first goal in the 53rd minute. This was the first senior assist for the left-back, who's been one of Barca's pleasant surprises from the start of the season.
