Signs with Columbus Crew Bailly has signed with the Columbus Crew as a free agent, most recently having played for Real Oviedo, according to the club.
Impact Bailly made 113 appearances for Manchester United across seven seasons, contributing one goal and one assist while winning the Europa League, EFL Cup and FA Community Shield, and also had spells with Espanyol, Villarreal across two stints, Marseille and Besiktas before joining Real Oviedo last season, where he made 16 appearances and scored one goal. The 31 year old Ivory Coast international has earned 49 caps for his country and was part of the squad that won the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. His contract with Columbus runs through June 2027 with club options for two additional seasons, giving the team an experienced defensive presence as it pushes through the second half of the season.
JULY 18 • ROTOWIRE
In Squad for Thursday Bailly (undisclosed) has been included in the squad for Thursday's clash against Real Madrid, according to the club.
Impact Bailly's return to the matchday squad is an encouraging development after being forced off in the 12th minute of Sunday's match against Getafe, raising fears of a potentially season-ending injury. The defender's inclusion suggests the issue was not as serious as initially feared, giving coach Guillermo Almada an additional option at the back for one of the most high-profile fixtures remaining on Oviedo's calendar. David Costas, who had stepped in to replace him against Getafe, could revert to a depth role with Bailly back in contention.
MAY 13 • ROTOWIRE
Off after 12 minutes Bailly was forced off the field in the 12th minute of Sunday's match against Getafe due to an apparent injury.
Impact Bailly wouldn't last long Sunday as his day came to an end with only 12 minutes played, leaving with an injury. This is unfortunate for the defender, who has struggled for some time this season, as it could very well end his season if deemed even somewhat serious. He was replaced by David Costas, who will likely return to a starting role for the end of the season.
MAY 10 • ROTOWIRE
Picked for bench Bailly (muscular) is on the bench for Monday's match against Espanyol.
Impact Bailly has missed the past two games but is finally fit again, with the defender an option from the bench. He started in his past two appearances, and with eight starts in 12 appearances this season, he should find a starting spot again soon.
MARCH 9 • ROTOWIRE
Should be available Monday Bailly (muscular) trained normally this week and should be an option for Monday's clash against Espanyol, according to La Voz de Asturias.
Impact Bailly appears to be fully past his recent muscle issues after training at full speed with the squad this week, putting the defender back in contention for Monday's showdown with Espanyol. It's a big boost for Real Oviedo, as Bailly is usually a lock in the starting lineup when he's healthy and should be set to regain that role heading into the upcoming stretch of fixtures.
MARCH 7 • ROTOWIRE
Back in training Friday Bailly (muscular) was back in team training Friday and could be an option for Monday's clash against Espanyol, according to La Voz de Asturias.
Impact Bailly returned to team training Friday after missing the last two games with a muscular injury, and the defender is trending toward being available for Monday's clash with Espanyol with two more training sessions still on the schedule before kickoff. That said, if he ends up missing another match, Dani Calvo would be in line to take on a bigger role in the back line.
MARCH 6 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with muscular issues Bailly (muscular) won't be an option for Saturday's clash against Atletico, coach Guillermo Almada said in the press conference, according to La Voz de Asturias.
Impact Bailly is still battling muscular issues and will not be available for Saturday's showdown against Atletico. That is a tough break for Oviedo after he opened the last two matches, and his absence now forces a shuffle in the back line. Head coach Guillermo Almada has already confirmed Dani Calvo as the starter against the Colchoneros, signaling a clear adjustment in the starting XI.
FEBRUARY 27 • ROTOWIRE
Not seen in training Bailly (undisclosed) was absent from training Wednesday and is uncertain for Saturday's clash against Atletico Madrid, according to Lavozdeasturias.
Impact Bailly was absent from training Wednesday as he continues his recovery while dealing with discomfort and is uncertain for Saturday's clash against Atletico Madrid. Dani Calvo is expected to partner David Carmo in central defense if the Ivorian is unable to feature.
FEBRUARY 25 • ROTOWIRE
Nets rare goal Bailly scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Saturday's 3-3 draw versus Real Sociedad.
Impact Bailly scored a rare goal during Saturday's draw, taking two shots overall in the clash. The defender isn't any sort of consistent goal threat and isn't worth considering for his offense despite this goal. Bailly remains a solid defensive option on a team that is stuck behind the ball more often than not.

Option against Rayo Vallecano Bailly (undisclosed) is back available for Saturday's clash against Rayo Vallecano, the club posted.
Impact Bailly trained in full this week and is back available for Saturday's clash against Rayo Vallecano. The center-back has been struggling with injuries in the recent seasons and will likely be eased back into the mix before competing for a starting role in central defense for Real Oviedo.
FEBRUARY 6 • ROTOWIRE
Training with ball Bailly (undisclosed) was spotted training with the ball on Thursday, the club posted.
Impact Bailly was spotted on grass and training with the ball on Thursday in what seems to be a team training. That said, the defender has been struggling with injuries in recent seasons, therefore his return to the match squad won't be rushed. He will likely be a late call again for Saturday's clash against Girona. Once fully fit, Bailly will be expected to regain a decent role in central defense for Oviedo.
JANUARY 29 • ROTOWIRE
Unlikely Saturday Bailly (undisclosed) is unlikely to be available for Saturday's clash against Osasuna, coach Guillermo Almada said in the press conference. "I don't think Eric will be there."
Impact Bailly is unlikely to recover in time for Saturday's clash against Osasuna due to the injury he has been dealing with since the game against Alaves. The center-back will likely be a late call for the game after the final training session on Friday.
JANUARY 16 • ROTOWIRE
Could be available Saturday Bailly (undisclosed) was spotted in team training on Wednesday and could be back available for Saturday's clash against Osasuna, according to La Voz de Asturias.
Impact Bailly missed the last game due to an injury but was back in team training on Wednesday. The center-back could be back available for Saturday's clash against Osasuna, although he will likely be monitored since he has been struggling with injuries in recent seasons. That said, if Bailly is fit to feature, he could return directly to the starting squad since he started in his last two appearances under new coach Guillermo Almada.
JANUARY 15 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with injury Bailly suffered an undisclosed injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Alaves and will be sidelined for the time being, according to Nacho Azparren Menendez of Diario AS.
Impact Bailly lasted 54 minutes in the draw and was forced off the game with a muscular injury. It's unclear when he'll be able to return, and since David Costas (strain) is also dealing with an injury, Oviedo are likely to look shorthanded against Betis on Saturday.

Joins Real Oviedo Bailly has joined Elche out of free agency, according to his new club.
Impact Bailly is finding a new club after departing Villarreal this summer, joining another Spain club after Elche's promotion. He signed a two-year deal with the club, holding plenty of experience, although he was more of a rotational option last campaign. He will likely see a bigger role this season, hoping to capture a starting spot with the club, adding some age and experience to the defense.

Suspension cleared Bailly is no longer suspended and is an option moving forward for the club.
Impact Bailly has cleared his suspension from the straight red card he received against Vigo and is now available for the next contest. That said, he should return to a bench role against Osasuna on Saturday, as he has for most of the season.

Impact Bailly put Villarreal in a tough spot when he drew a red card in the 37th minute of their 3-0 loss to Villarreal on Wednesday. Bailly up until that point had already made two clearances and won his only tackle. However, the center back will now miss the club's next three matches against Espanyol, Osasuna, and Girona.
APRIL 24, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Sent off against Athletic Bailly received a red card in the 37th minute of Wednesday's match against Athletic.
Impact Bailly is heading to the sidelines after he picked up a straight red card Wednesday, seeing his dismissal in the 37th minute of the contest. This will leave him suspended for their next match against Espanyol on Sunday, set to return against Osasuna on May 3. This was his first start in some time, so it isn't a major loss, with Logan Costa likely returning to his starting spot next contest with Bailly out.

Impact Bailly is back for Sunday's match, shaking off his shoulder issues, and training this week. He started in six of his nine appearances on the team sheet before his injury, so there is a slight chance he sees the start immediately. However, they may choose to integrate him in slowly, only giving him a bench role.

Impact Bailly is heading to the sidelines for what looks to be a short spell, with the defender having suffered a shoulder injury. This will be an unfortunate loss for the club, as he has started in around half of their matches. That said, this will force a change, with Logan Costa or Willy Kambwala possibly taking his spot in their return from injury.
OCTOBER 25, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Good to go Sunday Bailly (not injury related) is in the starting XI to face Getafe on Sunday.
Impact Bailly was a doubt in the buildup to the match after returning late from international duty. The defender starts his first match of October in the center of Villarreal's back four.

Doubtful to face Getafe Bailly (not injury related) is doubtful for Sunday's game against Getafe, Javi Mata of Diario AS reports.
Impact Bailly returned late from international duty, and it remains to be seen if he'll be fit enough to play on such a quick turnaround. All signs point to the defender being a game-time call, as Villarreal could use his experience in what figures to be a depleted defensive line.
