Returning to Valencia Bailly has agreed on a contract with Villarreal out of free agency, his new club announced Saturday.
Impact Bailly is returning to Valencia after a two-season stint with the club from 2014 to 2016. The defender will be remaining with the club until June of 2025, as he will spend the next two seasons with them. He has spent the start of the season as a free agent after having his contract terminated with Besiktas and will hope to revive his career, as he once looked to a rising talent in the early days of his career. He may struggle to find much play time at first but should get in the mix for Valencia once he is integrated into the squad, most likely mainly being used off the bench.

Returns to United Bailly will return to parent club Manchester United after spending a season on loan at Marseille.
Impact Bailly made only 10 starts in 22 appearances in all competitions for Marseille, recording 27 interceptions, 26 clearances and 19 tackles (15 won). He will return to England, where he previous spent six seasons with United as a regular starter. However, it wont be easy to get his starting role back with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane the current favorites for the center back position heading into the 2023-24 campaign.

Going on midseason trip Bailly will join his teammates on a trip to Marbella to maintain their fitness, it was announced Sunday.
Impact Bailly missed five of the final six matches before the World Cup but is in good shape to be fit when the league returns in late-December. When fit, Bailly started in seven of his nine appearances between the league and UCL.

Could feature in Monaco clash Bailly (thigh) has returned to training and should be available for Sunday's match versus Monaco, according to coach Igor Tudor.
Impact Bailly, Samuel Gigot, Pape Gueye and Jordan Veretout are all arriving this weekend with problems but everyone appears to be back in training according to Tudor. Bailly has now only played 50 minutes over the past month and will likely find himself on the bench at best here.

Won't play Sunday Bailly (thigh) didn't make the squad list for Sunday's match against Lyon.
Impact Bailly re-injured his thigh during Tuesday's loss to Tottenham just after missing three games with a similar injury. Samuel Gigot can help replace Bailly for the length of his absence if he's out until the World Cup.

Immediately re-injured Bailly was forced off in the ninth minute of Tuesday's Champions League clash with Tottenham due to injury.
Impact Bailly was just making his return from a thigh injury and didn't last 10 minutes before coming off holding his leg once more. Samuel Gigot took his role on the pitch and could see more playing time with Bailly sidelined yet again.

Back in starting XI Bailly (thigh) is in the starting XI for Tuesday's match against Tottenham.
Impact Bailly is healthy enough to start Tuesday after missing the last two weeks. It's a wonder if he's pushing through the injury in order to play in a must-win match, but that doesn't matter at this point. Given a quick return, he probably won't be in the XI for Sunday's league match against Lyon.
NOVEMBER 1, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Remains unavailable Bailly (thigh) continues to be absent for Tuesday's match against Tottenham Hotspur.
Impact Bailly will miss a fourth consecutive game due to his muscular injury. This leaves Chancel Mbemba, Leonardo Balerdi and Samuel Gigot as a likely trio to start in central-defense against the English visitors.
NOVEMBER 1, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Ruled out versus Strasbourg Bailly (thigh) has been ruled out for Saturday's match versus Strasbourg, according to coach Igor Tudor.
Impact Bailly will now miss his third straight game but Marseille are hopeful to get him back next week for the vital clash with Spurs, so he must be edging closer to a return. The team is getting very thin in the back with Pape Gueye also missing the call and Samuel Gigot still suspended though Sead Kolasinac is back in the nick of time and will line up at center-back.

Unavailable Wednesday Bailly (thigh) didn't make the squad list for Wednesday's trip to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Impact Bailly was also out for Saturday's loss to Lens and remains out for at least one more game. Sead Kolasinac, Leonardo Balerdi and Chancel Mbemba could continue as the starting center-backs against the German side. It's uncertain how long Bailly will be out but there's not much time left before the World Cup if he's to play again until late 2022.

Ruled out for Lens clash Bailly (thigh) has been ruled out for Saturday's match versus Lens, L'Equipe reports.
Impact Bailly suffered his issue last weekend during Le Classique and apparently he hasn't had enough time to recover for this clash. Samuel Gigot is suspended and the returning from an injury of his own Sead Kolasinac may have to start immediately. The other option at center-back is the first start for youngster and new recruit Isaak Toure.

Suffers injury in Le Classique Bailly was forced off the pitch and replaced in the 45th minute of Sunday's 1-0 loss to PSG with a thigh injury, L'Equipe reports.
Impact Bailly suffers another injury blow and continues his fitness woes from his time at Man Utd. The full severity of his issue is still unclear but Marseille are getting very thin at center-back with Sead Kolasinac also still injured and Samuel Gigot suspended this weekend. The Olympians may have to reshuffle the back line if none of the first two recovers on time for the clash with Lens on Saturday.

Keeps clean sheet for win Bailly held a clean sheet and added two interceptions and two aerials won in Wednesday's 2-0 win over Sporting CP.
Impact Bailly and the Marseille back line held first UCL clean sheet of the season and that's the defender's second of the season in just five starts. He seems to be getting healthier now and should have a more regular role if stays on his feet.
OCTOBER 13, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Included in squad list Bailly (thigh) was named to the traveling squad for Friday's matchup with Angers.
Impact Bailly clearly benefitted from the timing of the international break as he seems poised to miss just one match due to his thigh issue. Prior to his absence, the defender started three of the club's prior six contests, so his place in the starting XI is far from guaranteed even with his return to the squad.
SEPTEMBER 30, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Ruled out two to three weeks Bailly has been diagnosed with a thigh strain and will be ruled out for two to three weeks, L'Equipe reports.
Impact Bailly's news is a massive blow for the Olympians who may also be missing Samuel Gigot on Sunday. The former's timeline will certainly see him miss the clash with Rennes this weekend and likely his international duty with Ivory Coast and would even be questionable for the clash with Angers at the end of the month just after the international break. Chancel Mbemba is back in the squad however and will fill in the void Sunday.
