Impact Alaba had been rumored to join Real Madrid since before this season, though that was mainly because the Spanish club was the only one capable of meeting his wage demands. With an agreement now reached after Alaba's departure from the German champions, he offers a versatile skillset through his ability to play left-back, center-back, or as a central-midfielder. By also starting at least 27 league games in six straight seasons, Alaba brings a level of fitness barely seen in his new club outside of just a few players. His fantasy value will be most helped by a place at full-back, though the presence of Ferland Mendy on the left side means there's already a starter in that spot, so Alaba will likely find a place in the lineup but who knows where until a new manager is appointed.
