Bags winner Nkunku scored one goal from his only on target effort in Saturday's 1-0 victory versus AFC Bournemouth.
Impact Nkunku took to the field after 79 minutes Saturday to replace Nicolas Jackson as the Blues lead striker. The change was effective with the French striker scoring the match winner through his only on target effort, an excellent strike from outside the box. He is usually deployed from the bench and is Chelsea's choice penalty taker if he is on the field. He has made just one start this season though he has been brought on from the bench in every match. During 2023-24 he bagged three goals from 11 appearances.

Injury logged season Nkunku ended the 2023/24 EPL season making two starts in 11 appearances.
Impact Nkunku was not able to perform to his expectation, missing most of the time with a long-term knee and hamstring injury. He was the Bundesliga golden boot winner in 2022/23, expected to score most of the goals for Chelsea. Nkunku only recorded three goals in the 11 appearances, as the Frenchman is set to work on his fitness in the offseason ahead of the 2024/23 campaign.

Impact Nkunku came on to replace the injured Mykhailo Mudryk, recording his first goal since January. It has been an unfortunate season for the forward, missing most of the season through injuries. This resulted in just three goals in 10 appearances, two of them coming as starts.

Returns off bench Nkunku came off the bench and played 14 minutes during Sunday's 5-0 win over West Ham.
Impact Nkunku returned from a second long-term injury and was given the green light for about 15 minutes. The striker was expected to play a major role with his new club but injuries have totally derailed his start to life in London. The goal at this point is to get healthy to close the season and head into the offseason fully fit.

Cleared for bench role Nkunku (hamstring) is on the bench for Chelsea during Sunday's clash with West Ham.
Impact Nkunku was a doubt in the buildup to the match, but returns to the squad for the first time since February. It's been an injury plagued first campaign with Chelsea for Nkunku.

Doubtful for return Nkunku (hamstring) is still training with the team as he is a heavy doubt for Sunday's match versus West Ham. "For us, we need to recover the players. We do not have too many optio...
Impact Nkunku is still not expected to return Sunday after having just returned to team training with the squad. With only four matches left on the season, the forward is not likely to return to any important role after a disappointing injury plagued campaign. He will at least look to make a come back to the pitch on May 11 versus Nottingham Forest.

Impact Nkunku is closing in on a return but will have to wait another match or two before that happens, as he was included in team training this week. This is tremendous news for the club, as their star summer signing has only played seven games in league play all campaign due to injuries, now possibly being an option for the rest of the season after Thursday. He will now hope to be fit enough to take the field against West Ham on Sunday.

Could return before season's end Nkunku (hamstring) won't play Saturday against Manchester City in the FA Cup semifinals, but manager Mauricio Pochettino said he's hopeful of having the French winger back at some...
Impact The loss of Nkunku is a big one for Chelsea since he's an extremely talented player who can change the course of a game on his own, but it's not like it'll alter the team's plan too much, as he's missed most of the season with injuries. Regardless, this is an update in a positive direction for the Frenchman, who still has a shot at playing for the Blues before the campaign ends in mid-May, though a precise date for his potential return has yet to be provided. Nkunku has been limited to just seven appearances (two starts) in the Premier League this season, bagging two goals.

Impact This isn't the update Chelsea fans were looking for, as Nkunku has not been able to stay on the pitch this season. This injury was suffered after about a month of action on the pitch and a few bench appearances. Given this update, there's a chance Nkunku doesn't return again this season, chalking it up as a lost campaign. Fortunately for the Blues, most of the other attackers are healthy and scoring, so his absence isn't as pronounced as earlier in the season.

Impact Nkunku missed the first 16 games of the season due to a knee problem and now finds himself on the shelf once again. When the midfielder has gotten onto the pitch, he has been limited to just two starts in seven outings in which he registered two goals on 11 shots (seven on target). Mykhailo Mudryk could see some additional minutes with Nkunku unavailable.

Scores consolation goal Nkunku scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Wednesday's 4-1 loss against Liverpool.
Impact Nkunku got on the scoresheet with a nice finish in the second half, a small taste of what he can offer this attack if he can stay fit. Staying fit and in the starting XI is going to be the name of the game for Nkunku in the back half of the Premier League after nearly two seasons in a row where he's struggled with various injuries.

Given bench nod Nkunku (hip) is on the bench for Wednesday's contest against Liverpool.
Impact Nkunku is making his way off the injury report for the second time this season, being listed to the bench after healing from a hip injury. The club will now just hope for the attacker to remain healthy, as he has only played three contests since joining the club, having been injured over much of his tenure. He should return to the starting XI Sunday against Wolves after making the team sheet Wednesday.

Impact Nkunku returned to training earlier this week and is now expected to play on Wednesday, following a hip injury he has been nursing for the past three weeks. This is just one of the multiple important players that could return to the pitch this week for the Blues, as the attacker still has only played three contests all season despite being on the club's biggest pieces, having missed the first half of the season due to a knee injury. He most likely still won't start as the club will want to take all of his injuries moving forward very cautiously, but if he is on the team sheet against Liverpool, expect him to get time off the bench to test his legs in his return.

Impact Nkunku is back in limited training and unsurprisingly won't be pushed in Friday's FA Cup match. Fans will be hopeful of a swift return, but given that he was pushed probably too much in his return from his knee injury earlier this season, it's hard to see him starting immediately following this return. At best, it'll likely be a bench appearance at Liverpool and then a start the following weekend against Wolves.

Impact Nkunku will not be an option for the club's next match in Carabao Cup action, still not recovering from a hip injury he picked up on Dec. 30 against Luton Town as the club looks to make the finals of the tournament. Manager Mauricio Pochettino made sure to get the point across that the attacker's injury is no major issue, but the club is taking his recovery process slow, as they don't want to hinder his rehabilitation after missing the first couple of months of the season already. He will still hope to return for the club's next Premier League match on Jan. 31 against Liverpool, as the club will need their star man if they want to make a late push for the top of the table after a woeful start to the year that now sees them in ninth place.

Impact Nkunku still has a chance to return for Saturday's Premier League action, he simply won't be an option for the EFL Cup semifinal. Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer will partner in attack while Nkunku remains on the sideline yet again.

Misses FA Cup match with hip injury Nkunku was not in the squad to face Preston North End in the FA Cup on Saturday due to a hip problem.
Impact Manager Mauricio Pochettino stated that Nkunku "wasn't invovled because he suffered after training a problem in his hip." It's another issue in an injury plagued Chelsea career thus far for Nkunku who had just recently returned to match action.
