Considering all that, it makes sense they rested their primary striker Nicolas Jackson, who has no reason to be benched based on form after scoring four goals across his last six games. Thus, Nkunku was Chelsea's striker Wednesday. The position paid dividends for him, as he logged his first goal since September and his first assist in a Chelsea uniform. Nkunku as a striker seems decent, but his best shot at regular starts will remain in attacking midfield, with Cole Palmer and perhaps Noni Madueke being the Blues' only locks in that position range.
