Transfers to Crystal Palace Richards has completed a transfer to Crystal Palace from Bayern Munich on a contract through 2025, the club announced Wednesday.

Impact Richards was on loan with Hoffenheim for the 2021/22 season where his season was cut short due to a severe muscular issue in his thigh. The defender returned to Bayern Munich in the summer but with Alphonso Davies and Lucas Hernandez ahead of him in the depth chart he never really had a chance to break through. Richards will serve as a depth option for Palace, as Marc Guehi and Joachim Andersen have a strangle on the center-back spots. That said, once healthy, Richards should move above James Tomkins and maybe even Joel Ward on the depth chart.
