Ralf Fahrmann - Dominates in close loss Fahrmann made nine saves and conceded once in the 1-0 loss to Koln on Saturday.
Impact Fahrmann has been a stud all season and there was no better way to cap of what was a lost season with another tremendous performance. He was called time and time again in the close game with Koln to only stand on his head each time. Multiple one on ones were sent his way and he shut every single chance down. He was rather unlucky to concede the late goal in the final minutes though. Throughout the season he averaged, 4.4 saves and 2.27 goals against per 90 minutes in all competitions.

Bastian Oczipka - Misses crucial chance in loss Oczipka created two chances, sent three crosses (two accurate), took two corners and made three tackles (one won) in the 1-0 loss to Koln on Saturday.
Impact Oczipka was good enough in the loss Saturday. The defender slotted in at the left-flank and he produced an all-around performance. He once again had a small role in the set-pieces and he continued to create chances when available. His shining moment came at the very end of the match with seconds left to tie the game, but he just missed the net. Oczipka had a sandwich season with the beginning and end compiled of his best performances and the middle a lack of confidence and consistency. With a few years under his belt, it would make sense to keep him around to provide veteran experience while in the midst of a possible return to the top-flight.

Amine Harit - Drops three crosses in 1-0 loss Harit produced one shot (none on target), created one chance, sent three crosses (none accurate), took two corners and made three tackles (two won) in the 1-0 loss to Koln on Satur...
Impact Harit remained one of the crucial players if not the number one player for Schalke in yet another loss Saturday. The midfielder has been their only solid producer all season in terms of attack. However, most of his value has come from his role on set-pieces. Without that responsibility, his value would be one of the lowest on the team. With an influx of even younger talent to the squad, it remains to be seen what Harit's role will be moving into next season.

Blendi Idrizi - Receives first career yellow card Idrizi took one shot (none on target), sent one cross (none accurate), made two tackles (none won) and received one yellow card in the 1-0 loss to Koln on Saturday.
Impact Idrizi was below subpar during the loss. The midfielder struggled to make any sort of impact, even though he was one of the better all-around players for Schalke. However, he has only made three career appearances and they have all been back-to-back starts with Schalke. In those appearances, he has shown that he can play a two-way game in the midfield which is something that Schalke desperately needs. He will play a pivotal role no matter where Schalke ends their season a year from now.

Timo Becker - Almost gives up costly goal in loss Becker made one tackle (won one) and produced four interceptions in the 1-0 loss to Koln on Saturday.
Impact Becker was rather helpful on the backline for the majority of the match. However, he was involved in a communication mishap with keeper Ralf Fahrmann. Becker was tracking the ball from a set-piece, but did not communicate with the keeper to come out and instead a goal was scored. Luckily for the two of them, it would eventually be called back. Schalke's backline and keeper have had a rough time communicating in general this season and their record shows it. It remains to be seen if there will be any changes made in the offseason and who will get axed along with them.

Timo Horn - Posts back-to-back clean sheets Horn made zero saves and recorded one clean sheet during the 1-0 win against Schalke on Saturday.
Impact Horn was tasked with picking grass in one of the most important games of the season. The keeper did not see much of Schalke's attack and when he did, it was never a true attempt on net. However, he has his backline to thank for this. Horn has made just one save over his past two appearances with clean sheets in both. He has been unreliable for the majority of the season and his backline has stepped up in a large way perfect timing to make up for it.

Sebastiaan Bornauw - Scores possible season-saving goal Bornauw scored once, took two shots (one on target), made four interceptions and received one yellow card in the 1-0 win against Schalke on Saturday.
Impact Bornauw was fantastic in the epic win Saturday. The defender not only helped lead the backline and start the transition, but he also joined the attack a few times to provide another body. It just so happened that he managed to escape his man in the final minutes to secure the all important goal to possibly save Koln's season. Bornauw has been a rock on the backline all season and he has been looking to move up more lately to help on set-pieces. If he can continue doing this, he will only boost his value as a multi-dimensional center-back.
