Staying with Toffees Young signed a one-year contract with Everton, stating "it was a no-brainer."
Impact Young was thrown into the starting group almost out of necessity the second half of last season and he provided, finishing with 27 starts and more than 2,200 league minutes, his most in five years. It's unlikely he'll have the same kind of role at 39 years old, but his versatility allowed him to start in numerous positions when needed and it could again be a calling card for minutes in the coming season.

Impact Young is coming off his first season with the Toffees, having made 26 starts in 30 Premier League appearances. In those matches, the defender recorded 13 shots (two on target), 100 crosses (24 accurate) and 19 corners while also chipping in 49 tackles, 44 clearances and 22 interceptions. Impact Young managed more crosses and created more chances than any of his teammates. The veteran has started the last two games, having been on the bench for the previous four. He is still looking for his first attacking return of the season.
APRIL 7, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Draws rare start Young took two shots (one on goal), crossed twice inaccurately and made two interceptions during Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Newcastle.
Impact Young drew his first start since February in the match and led Everton in both shots and interceptions while playing a full 90 minutes. Young has continued to line up on the right side of midfield when playing instead of at fullback.
APRIL 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
11 crosses Saturday Young had 11 crosses (two accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.
Impact Young tied a season high with 11 crosses Saturday, by far his most since he did it on Aug. 26 versus Wolves. Impact Young is back in full training but Wednesday's match comes too soon for him to be fit and available. The full-back will have an extended period to continue his recovery before a return to Premier League action against Fulham on Jan. 30.

Unavailable again Sunday Young (undisclosed) will remain sidelined heading into Sunday's clash with Aston Villa.
Impact Young will be shelved for his fifth consecutive contest due to his lingering knock suffered against Chelsea on Dec. 10. Nathan Patterson figures to continue filling the left-back role with Young unavailable, though club captain Seamus Coleman could also be in contention.

Will remain sidelined until new year Young (undisclosed) will not be an option against Wolves on Saturday, according to manager Sean Dyche. "[Young] is still a bit away after a few weeks but he's a super-fit fella so...
Impact Young will be missing his fourth match in a row on Saturday, as he has been unable to shake off an undisclosed injury he picked up against Chelsea on Jan. 10. Based on manager Sean Dyche's quotes, the player looks to be recovering well, and will hopefully be an option for their first match of 2024 against Aston Villa on Jan. 14. With two weeks of rest until that next contest, the midfielder should be back in the mix by then, possibly starting, as he has served in a starting role for every match he has been available for.
DECEMBER 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out once again Young (undisclosed) is out for Wednesday's contest against Manchester City.
Impact Young is once again on the sidelines for Everton, having missed the club's last three matches due to an undisclosed issue. The midfielder was already expected to miss this contest, so his absence should come as no surprise. He most likely won't be an option for their final match of the year against Wolves on Saturday but will eye a return against Aston Villa on Jan. 14 after the winter break.
DECEMBER 27, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

The midfielder will hope to be ready for the club's match against Manchester City on Wednesday, as he has been a regular starter this season, only missing out on two games due to his injuries. While he is out, expect Nathan Patterson to continue in the starting role at right-back.
DECEMBER 21, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Not traveling Saturday Young (undisclosed ) will not make the trip to Burnley for Saturday's match.
Impact Young left Sunday's match with a minor injury that will keep him out for Saturday. He's started the last six matches in a row, totaling 11 clearances and 21 crosses (seven accurate) in that span. Both Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson are set to start at wing backs for Saturday's match.
DECEMBER 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with minor issue Young is dealing with a minor injury, though he "put the maximin in" for 41 minutes in Sunday's win against Chelsea, according to manager Sean Dyche.
Impact It doesn't sound like a major issue for Young, who probably played too many minutes in a short amount of time, given that he's 38 years old. With almost a full week to rest, he'll likely remain in the starting XI going forward, starting with the trip to Burnley. Prior to the Chelsea match, Young had produced 20 crosses in his last four starts, though he played more forward in the win against Newcastle.

Nets against Burnley Young scored once during Wednesday's 3-0 win over Burnley.
Impact Young served a one-match ban and got back in the starting XI for the EFL Cup clash. The right-back got on the scoresheet and has seemingly been the top choice at right-back even with Nathan Patterson fit once more. It's not clear who will get the nod for Saturday's clash with Brighton, though Young is certainly the incumbent.
NOVEMBER 1, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Eligible to return Young has served his one-match ban and will be in contention versus Brighton on Saturday.
Impact Young had started all nine of the club's Premier League contests prior to his double yellow in the Merseyside Derby. With the veteran right-back ineligible, Nathan Patterson got the start against West Ham United. Looking ahead to the Brighton clash, it should be Young that reclaims his place in the starting XI.
