Impact Kuznetsov's demotion to the minors appears to have been nothing more than a paper transaction with the blueliner set to make his NHL debut against Ottawa on Tuesday, per Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun. In the minors this season, the 21-year-old defenseman has generated two goals and five helpers in 31 contests, so fantasy players probably shouldn't be banking on an offensive outburst from the youngster.

Impact Kuznetsov didn't get a chance to make his NHL debut during his stint with the Flames. The 21-year-old blueliner has two goals and five assists in 31 AHL contests this campaign.

Impact Kuznetsov has collected seven points through 31 minor-league contests this year. Although he's been promoted, at this point it isn't clear if Kuznetsov will make his NHL debut Saturday versus the Flyers.

Agrees to ELC Kuznetsov signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Flames on Tuesday.

Impact The Flames selected Kuznetsov in the second round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-4 blueliner spent the last two seasons with the University of Connecticut. He was just 17 years old for nearly his entire freshman season, supplying two goals and nine assists across 24 games, and he added six points over 16 contests this year. There's upside for a player of Kuznetsov's skill set, but he'll need time to develop in the AHL first. Expect the 19-year-old to report to AHL Stockton once he clears quarantine.
