Clay Stevenson - Starting again Tuesday
Stevenson will defend the road net against Philadelphia on Tuesday, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact
Stevenson will make his third straight start, and his second in two nights. He has won his previous two outings while stopping 48 of 52 shots, including a 29-save performance in Monday's 4-1 victory over the Islanders. Philadelphia ranks 21st in the league with 2.91 goals per game this season.

Rasmus Sandin - Gets on scoresheet with helper
Sandin logged an assist in Monday's 4-1 win over the Islanders.
Impact
Sandin missed a game last week due to a lower-body injury. He saw some extra minutes after the brief absence, but he was back on the third pairing Monday with the return of Matt Roy from his own lower-body injury. Sandin has a little upside on offense, but it hasn't been showing much lately -- he has just five helpers over 16 games since the start of January. The defenseman is at 18 points, 62 shots on net, 82 blocked shots, 58 hits and a plus-6 rating through 50 appearances.

Matt Roy - Nabs helper in return
Roy notched an assist, two shots on goal and three hits in Monday's 4-1 win over the Islanders.
Impact
Roy missed three games due to a lower-body injury. The defenseman saw 19:23 of ice time in his return, and with the Olympic break starting later this week, he should soon get plenty of rest if he's not at 100 percent just yet. Roy has put up a goal, 14 helpers, 69 shots on net, 78 hits, 106 blocked shots and a plus-13 rating over 54 appearances as a regular in the Capitals' top four this season.

Martin Fehervary - Pots goal in Monday's win
Fehervary scored a goal, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Monday's 4-1 win over the Islanders.
Impact
Fehervary tied the game at 1-1 with his goal at 5:29 of the second period. The 26-year-old defenseman missed Saturday's game versus the Hurricanes as he became a father, and he capitalized on the newfound dad strength to snap a 20-game goal drought. For the season, he has produced four goals, 20 points, 59 shots on net, 64 hits, 117 blocked shots, 23 PIM and a plus-10 rating over 56 appearances in a shutdown role.

John Carlson - Deposits empty-netter
Carlson scored an empty-net goal and went plus-2 in Monday's 4-1 win over the Islanders.
Impact
Carlson was able to find the empty cage from his own zone to seal the Capitals' win. The 36-year-old blueliner was excellent in January with a goal and 14 assists over 16 outings, and it looks like his momentum has carried over to February. For the season, he has produced 10 goals, 45 points, 109 shots on net, 78 blocked shots and a plus-13 rating through 54 appearances.

Alex Ovechkin - Passes another Gretzky mark
Ovechkin picked up an assist Monday in a 4-1 win over the Islanders.
Impact
It was Ovechkin's 1,670th point with the Capitals. With it, he passed Wayne Gretzky (1,669 points with the Oilers) for the fifth-most points with a single franchise in NHL history. Ovie has points in three of his last four games (one goal, two assists) and seven, including two goals, in his last 12 games). At this point of the season, Ovechkin is on pace for another 30-goal season. If he gets there, he will have put up that total in every season, except the pandemic-shortened year, that he has played (21 campaigns).

Anthony Beauvillier - Rare goal in win
Beauvillier scored a goal Monday in a 4-1 win over the Islanders.
Impact
Beauvillier has 11 goals, seven assists and 120 shots in 57 games this season. But he has just three goals and two assists in his last 17 games. And that's while getting opportunities on the Caps' top line. There are better fantasy options.

Nic Dowd - Three points in last three games
Dowd had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over the Islanders on Monday.
Impact
His goal was a fluke, but they all count. Dowd wired a pass intended for Alex Ovechkin that hit Ondrej Palat's stick and then Tony DeAngelo's skate before bouncing past David Rittch. The third-line center has three points, including two goals, in his last three games (four shots). Dowd had two hits Monday to bring his season total to 90 -- that's by far his best fantasy category. He has four goals, 12 assists, 44 shots and 39 hits in 49 games.

Clay Stevenson - Second straight win
Stevenson made 29 saves in a 4-1 win over the Islanders on Monday.
Impact
It was his second consecutive start and win while filling in for Logan Thompson and Charlie Lindgren, both of whom are out with injuries. Stevenson was great -- he made several sharp saves, including sprawling pad save in the third while shorthanded that preserved a 2-1 lead. And his mates were outstanding, blocking 23 shots. Stevenson will remain in the blue paint until Lindgren and Thompson are back from the IR.
