John Carlson - Leaves Thursday's game Carlson (lower body) won't return to Thursday's game versus the Predators.
Impact Carlson picked up a power-play assist in the first period and added two blocked shots in 7:03 of ice time. The defenseman will have nearly three weeks to recover during the Olympic break. If the injury isn't too significant, he should be able to suit up Feb. 25 versus the Flyers, but the Capitals will likely have some sort of update available when they reconvene during the break following some time off.

Garin Bjorklund - Returned to minors Bjorklund was sent down to AHL Hershey on Thursday, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact The Capitals activated Logan Thompson (upper body) from injured reserve in a corresponding move. Bjorklund was the backup goaltender in all three games since his recall Jan. 31. He was 4-5-2 with a 3.43 GAA and an .879 save percentage across 11 AHL appearances before his recall.

Logan Thompson - Set to start Thursday Thompson (upper body) has been activated off injured reserve and is expected to tend the twine at home against Nashville, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact Thompson will suit up for the first time since Jan. 27 against the Kraken, a game in which he gave up five goals on 32 shots in a losing effort. The backstop's return to action Thursday should clear the way for him to join Team Canada in Milan for the Olympics.

Sonny Milano - Won't play Thursday Milano has been ruled out for Thursday's game against Nashville due to personal reasons, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact Milano appeared in each of the last three games, recording an assist, a hit and a minus-1 rating during that time. He'll be unavailable for the Capitals' final game before the Olympic break, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him back in action when the team resumes play in late February.

Impact Dubois returns after a 47-game stint on injured reserve following his abdominal surgery. The 27-year-old winger figures to slot into a top-six role with the Caps, in addition to linking up with one of the power-play units.
