John Carlson - Dishes helper Tuesday Carlson registered an assist while logging 24:32 of ice time during Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Devils.
Impact Carlson has posted two goals and 12 points in 20 games since the calendar rolled into 2024 -- but has managed just four points in that span on a Capitals power play that has struggled with consistency all season. The 34-year-old is on pace for another 40+ point campaign and should be a solid -- though perhaps not gamebreaking -- rearguard for the balance of the 2023-24 season.

Impact The move can be retroactive to Saturday, which would make Fehervary eligible to be activated ahead of Monday's contest versus Ottawa. Fehervary has two goals and 12 points in 47 games this season. While he's unavailable, Ethan Bear is likely to remain in the lineup.

Nic Dowd - Slated to miss next two games Dowd (upper body) is considered to be day-to-day, but he won't travel for the upcoming two-game road trip, the team reports Wednesday.
Impact Dowd is expected to miss Thursday's match in Tampa Bay and Saturday's road contest versus the Panthers. After that, the Capitals will return home to face the Senators on Monday. With the 33-year-old forward unavailable, Pierrick Dube was recalled from AHL Hershey on Wednesday and might draw into the lineup. Dowd has eight goals, 16 points, 30 PIM, 56 hits and 57 blocks in 45 appearances this season.

Impact McMichael had a standout game, notching the first two goals for the Capitals to give them a 2-1 lead. His second goal started off a string of four consecutive for Washington as they secured a decisive win with a solid effort from netminder Charlie Lindgren. This was a milestone for McMichael as it was his 10th goal of the season which establishes a new career high for the 23-year old center.

Dylan Strome - Three-point effort in win Strome notched a goal and two assists during Tuesday's 6-2 win over New Jersey.
Impact Strome was held scoreless in the first two periods but he opened up the scoring in the third period as the Capitals pulled away from the Devils. He followed up his tally with primary assists on both goals by Alex Ovechkin in 16:12 of ice time. Over the past nine games, Strome has been a consistent offensive threat for the Capitals, recording five goals and six assists. The 26-year old center is looking to smash his previous career high of 23 goals as he has already amassed 21 tallies with 28 games still remaining for the Capitals.

Alex Ovechkin - First three-point game of season Ovechkin scored two goals and added a helper in Tuesday's 6-2 victory over the Devils.
Impact Ovechkin was held scoreless in the first two periods but he would not be denied. With the Capitals only up 2-1 heading into the final frame, he added a primary assist on Dylan Strome's lone goal and then added two more of his own, including a power-play marker with only 33 seconds left for his 16th of the season. Over the past nine games, Ovechkin has been an offensive juggernaut for the Capitals, tallying an impressive eight goals and five assists. This is an improvement for the 38-year sniper as he has struggled to score for much of the season.

Charlie Lindgren - Busy in Tuesday's win Lindgren made 37 saves in a 6-2 win over the Devils on Tuesday.
Impact The Devils pumped double-digit shots towards Lindgren in each period but he was up to the task. Finishing with a .949 save percentage, he kicked aside all seven power play shots sent his and received offensive help from his teammates as they provided a lead for him for the majority of the game. Lindgren has not been consistent as of late, allowing 11 goals over a two game span at the end of January and then shutting out the Bruins on Feb. 10. That being said, his regular season has been solid as he has totalled three shutouts and a 2.65 GAA.
