Kailer Yamamoto - Signs one-year deal Yamamoto signed a one-year, two-way contract with Utah on Sunday.

Impact Yamamoto turned his professional tryout into a one-year deal ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. He produced eight goals and eight assists in 59 games with Seattle during the 2023-24 regular season. Yamamoto will occupy a depth role with Utah HC and could see playing time in the bottom six.

Matt Villalta - Waived for AHL demotion Villalta was put on waivers Sunday for the purpose of assignment to AHL Tucson.

Impact Villalta earned a 31-17-3 record with a 2.54 GAA and a .911 save percentage across 51 AHL appearances during the 2023-24 regular season. He will probably spend most of the 2024-25 campaign in the minors, barring an injury to Connor Ingram or Karel Vejmelka.

Schmaltz was productive as usual last season, recording 22 goals, 61 points (21 on the power play) and 158 shots on net over 79 contests as a playmaker.

Dylan Guenther - Leads offense in win Guenther scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Saturday's 2-1 preseason win over the Avalanche.

Impact Guenther buried a pass from Logan Cooley for the opening goal in the first period, then assisted on Nick Schmaltz's game-winner in the third. Guenther finishes the preseason with four goals and two assists over four appearances. The 21-year-old winger signed an eight-year contract in September, and while he has yet to play a full NHL season, he figures to be a large part of what's expected to be a step forward for Utah's roster. Guenther had 24 goals and 50 points over 78 career games with the Coyotes across the previous two seasons.

Impact Keller has two goals and four assists over three preseason contests. That's great form for the 26-year-old winger, who is the most proven scoring threat on Utah's inaugural roster. Keller had 33 goals and 76 points in 78 contests for the Coyotes last year, and he figures to push for a point-per-game pace or better in 2024-25 after Utah made significant offseason additions.
