Dakota Joshua - Practices Monday
Joshua (illness) participated in Monday's practice, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
Impact
Joshua should be ready to return to the lineup against Chicago on Tuesday after sitting out Saturday's 6-3 loss to Edmonton. He has earned five goals, nine points, 25 shots on net, 23 blocked shots and 99 hits in 29 appearances this season.

Joseph Woll - Could return Tuesday
Head coach Craig Berube said Monday that Woll (lower body) is a possibility to play Tuesday against Chicago, Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports.
Impact
Woll has missed the last four games due to his lower-body injury, but he could be activated off injured reserve ahead of Tuesday's matchup. The 27-year-old netminder was stellar leading up to his absence, as he went 3-1-0 with a 1.62 GAA and .950 save percentage over his last four starts.

Chris Tanev - Sporting regular sweater
Tanev (upper body) practiced in a regular jersey Monday, Claire Hanna of TSN reports, indicating he's been cleared for contact.
Impact
Tanev may be hard-pressed to immediately return to the lineup versus the Blackhawks on Tuesday, but he certainly seems to be trending in the right direction. In his eight outings this year, the veteran blueliner has notched two assists, eight blocks and six shots. While the Toronto native generates plenty of blocks, he doesn't offer enough physicality or offensive upside to be more than a low-end fantasy target.

Matias Maccelli - Absent from Monday's practice
Maccelli won't participate in Monday's practice session due to an illness.
Impact
Maccelli has been a healthy scratch in seven consecutive games, but he's now dealing with an illness. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available for Tuesday's game against Chicago, but even if he's healthy, it's not guaranteed that he'll suit up.

Matias Maccelli - Scratched for seventh straight game
Maccelli was a healthy scratch Saturday.
Impact
He has watched from the press box for seven straight games. And prior to that, Maccelli had one assist and three shots in his previous eight games. He's simply not a Craig Berube guy, which means a trade could be possible. But his output makes that all but impossible. Maccelli has four goals and five assists in 22 games this season.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson - Snaps six-game point drought
Ekman-Larsson scored a goal Saturday in a 6-3 loss to the Oilers.
Impact
He wired a shot glove side from the high slot; it put the Leafs up 2-1 early in the second. It was Ekman-Larsson's first point in six games (13 shots). He's on a pace that could see him equal his career mark of 55 points, which he set 10 years ago. His success that season was built on the power play, where he recorded half of his points. Ekman-Larsson is doing it the hard way this year with just three of his 21 points coming with the man advantage.

ROTOWIRE
Steven Lorentz - Snaps 10-game goal slump
Lorentz scored a goal and added an assist in a 6-3 loss to the Oilers on Saturday.
Impact
Lorentz snapped a 10-game goal drought (one assist) with the snipe. He and Scott Laughton have shown solid chemistry on line four, and the addition of Easton Cowan has helped bolster that trio. Lorentz has 54 hits in 25 games, which slides him into the league's top-100. But nine points (three goals, six assists) in 25 games aren't enough to pull him off the wire.

Easton Cowan - Chips in rebound
Cowan scored a goal in a 6-3 loss to the Oilers on Saturday.
Impact
Cowan chipped in a rebound in the first period to tie the game 1-1. He's skating on the Leafs fourth line with Scott Laughton and Steven Lorentz. It's an aggressive trio, but Cowan's best work will come in the top six. Long term, he remains a solid keeper play. But he has just one goal and one assist in his last six games (eight shots) and 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 23 games overall.

ROTOWIRE
Artur Akhtyamov - NHL debut in relief
Akhtyamov made five saves in relief in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Oilers.
Impact
It was his NHL debut; he didn't allow a goal. Akhtyamov may be headed back to the AHL soon. Joseph Woll (lower body) may return Tuesday.

ROTOWIRE
Dennis Hildeby - Pulled after allowing six goals
Hildeby allowed six goals on 32 shots before being pulled in the third period of Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Oilers.
Impact
It was a rough night for Hildeby at the hands of Connor McDavid (two goals, one assist), Vasily Podkolzin (two goals) and Leon Draisaitl (three helpers). It was his fourth straight start (1-1-2). And despite looking like he belongs in the NHL, Hildeby cannot be expected to carry the kind of workload he's carrying this year. Joseph Woll (lower body) may be available Tuesday.
