Injured in second period Kochetkov (upper body) exited Thursday's game versus the Ducks in the second period, Luke DeCock of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Impact Kochetkov was run into after making a save, and there was head contact. Antti Raanta entered the game in relief and would likely take over the starting role if Kochetkov is forced to miss any time beyond Thursday. Prior to the injury, Kochetkov allowed three goals on 13 shots.

Tending twine Thursday Kochetkov will guard the home goal versus the Ducks, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.
Impact Kochetkov will go for his fifth straight win. During his previous four outings, he's allowed just seven goals in all. He'll face a Ducks team that is missing Trevor Zegras (ankle) and Pavel Mintyukov (shoulder), depleting an already lackluster offense.

Cruises to fourth straight win Kochetkov stopped 15 shots in Friday's 6-2 win over the Capitals.
Impact Washington actually grabbed a 2-0 lead as Carolina gave their opponents a one-period head start, but Kochetkov and the Hurricanes dominated play over the final 40 minutes. The 24-year-old netminder has won four straight starts, allowing two goals or less in each, and since the beginning of December he's posted an 8-3-2 record over 13 outings with a 2.22 GAA and .918 save percentage. Even after Frederik Andersen (illness) returns to the ice, Kochetkov could remain atop the depth chart if he's still flashing his current form.

Tending twine Friday Kochetkov will get the starting nod in Washington on Friday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.
Impact Kochetkov is riding a three-game winning streak. During that stretch, he's allowed just five goals on 93 shots. Since the start of December, he's gone 7-3-2 with a strong .920 save percentage and 2.24 GAA through 12 appearances. The 24-year-old is 7-5-1 with a 2.23 GAA on the road this season.

Notches third straight win Kochetkov turned aside 28 shots in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the Rangers.
Impact Chris Kreider spoiled his shutout bid early in the second period by tipping home a Jacob Trouba point shot, but Kochetkov was otherwise in control all night. The 24-year-old netminder picked up his third straight win, and he's taken only one regulation loss in his last nine starts, going 6-1-2 with a dazzling 1.86 GAA and .934 save percentage. Frederic Andersen (illness) is tentatively set to return later this month, but it's hard to see him displacing Kochetkov from the top of Carolina's depth chart given the younger goalie's current form.

Impact It was an impressive effort from Kochetkov, who held the Predators to a pair of second-period goals while turning aside 35 shots en route to a win. The 24-year-old netminder is now 4-1-2 with a .931 save percentage over his last seven outings. Overall, Kochetkov improved to 8-7-3 with an .898 save percentage and 2.65 GAA. Impact Kochetkov has lost three of his last four contests, posting a 1-1-2 record despite a solid 2.43 GAA. While Antti Raanta has been recalled from the minors, the 24-year-old Kochetkov figures to continue seeing the majority of the starts, at least until Frederik Andersen (illness) is cleared to return.
DECEMBER 27, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Team offered little help in loss Kochetkov made 23 saves in a 5-4 loss to the Islanders on Saturday.
Impact The Canes came out of the gate slow and were down for good by 14:43 of the first period. Kochetkov wasn't to blame, but the harsh reality is that the Canes have been awful of late. They have just three wins in their past 11 games (3-5-3). Use caution when sticking any Carolina twinetender in the blue paint until the team turns this around.
DECEMBER 24, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Starting in Pittsburgh Kochetkov will patrol the road crease during Thursday's matchup with the Penguins, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Impact Kochetkov was pretty solid in his last start Tuesday versus Vegas, turning aside 30 of 33 shots en route to a 6-3 victory. He'll try to secure his fifth win of the month of December in a favorable road matchup with a Pittsburgh squad that's averaging only 2.86 goals per game at home this year, 25th in the NHL.
DECEMBER 21, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Another strong showing Kochetkov made 30 saves in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Golden Knights.
Impact The 24-year-old netminder was in control most of the game, but his final line was marred by two goals inside the final two minutes by Vegas. Kochetkov is 3-0-1 over his last four starts and hasn't allowed more than three goals in any of his last seven outings, posting a sharp 2.28 GAA and .916 save percentage over that stretch.
DECEMBER 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Starting Tuesday Kochetkov will patrol the home crease Tuesday against Vegas, according to Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer.
Impact Kochetkov is coming off a 20-save effort in Sunday's 2-1 shootout loss to Washington. He has earned a 6-6-2 record with a 2.62 GAA and an .894 save percentage over 15 appearances this season. Vegas ranks ninth in the league this campaign with 3.41 goals per contest.
DECEMBER 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Falls in shootout Kochetkov stopped 20 of 21 shots in Sunday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Capitals.
Impact Kochetkov's now held opponents to just one goal in each of his last three starts, though his margin for error was slim Sunday as the Hurricanes could only muster one goal themselves in an eventual shootout loss. The 22-year-old netminder fell to 6-6-2 with an .894 save percentage and 2.62 GAA this season. With Antti Raanta now in the AHL, Kochetkov is the undisputed top goaltender in Carolina until Frederik Andersen (illness) is able to return. The Hurricanes will host Vegas in their next game Tuesday.
DECEMBER 18, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Guarding cage Sunday Kochetkov will get the starting nod at home against the Capitals on Sunday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
Impact After a brief rough patch, Kochetkov has won two straight games, stopping a combined 56 of 58 shots during that span. The 24-year-old is now 6-6-1 with a 2.78 GAA and an .890 save percentage through 14 appearances this season. With Antti Raanta being waived and sent to AHL Chicago, Kochetkov will see a bulk of the work in Carolina, at least until Frederik Andersen (illness) returns.
DECEMBER 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Sharp in second straight win Kochetkov made 25 saves in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Red Wings.
Impact A Michael Rasmussen snapshot from the faceoff dot in the second period spoiled his shutout bid, but Kochetkov otherwise was very impressive as he collected his second straight win and fifth in his last eight starts, a stretch in which he's gone 5-2-1 with a 2.54 GAA and .901 save percentage. Antti Raanta has made only three appearances in that time, allowing nine goals on 74 shots (.878 save percentage), so Kochetkov's spot at the top of the depth chart for Carolina seems fairly secure at the moment.
