Bryan Rust - Handed three-game ban Rust has been suspended for three games by the Department of Player Safety on Tuesday for an illegal check to the head on Brock Boeser.
Impact Rust's absence will be a significant blow to a Penguins squad that is riding a four-game winning streak. During that stretch, the 33-year-old winger has recorded one goal, one assist and nine shots while playing on the top line with Sidney Crosby. There are several candidates who could fill that role for Pittsburgh, including Ben Kindel, who previously saw first-line minutes when Rickard Rakell was hurt.

Jack St. Ivany - Set for extended absence St. Ivany underwent successful surgery on his left hand, and his expected recovery time is up to eight weeks, the Penguins announced Tuesday.
Impact St. Ivany sustained his hand injury Sunday in Vancouver. Considering the amount of time he will miss, the 26-year-old will likely be placed on injured reserve at some point in the near future. Connor Clifton and Ilya Solovyov will compete for playing time on the third pairing while St. Ivany is sidelined.

Impact Kindel ended a 19-game goal drought in a big way. He had the Penguins' second and third tallies, and his second goal stood as the game-winner after the Canucks' comeback effort fell short. Kindel is up to 10 goals, 22 points, 97 shots on net, 42 blocked shots, 20 hits and a minus-10 rating over 48 appearances. He's still in a third-line role, but the 18-year-old has already showed some promise as a rookie.

Stuart Skinner - Holds on for win Skinner stopped 30 of 32 shots in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Canucks.
Impact Skinner was spotted a 3-0 lead after two periods. The Canucks pushed back with goals from Jake DeBrusk and Teddy Blueger, but Skinner was able to keep the lead for the Penguins, earning his fourth straight win. He's allowed nine goals on 108 shots during the streak. For the season, the 27-year-old netminder improved to 18-12-4 with a 2.65 GAA and an .896 save percentage over 34 starts. The Penguins will have a short break before their next game, which is at home Thursday versus the Blackhawks.
