Yegor Chinakhov - Scores again in Thursday's win Chinakhov scored a goal in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Oilers.
Impact Even in the blowout win, Chinakhov saw a team-low 12:04 of ice time. He's also scored in four of the last eight games, but his usage remains limited despite his on-paper second-line role. Chinakhov is up to eight goals, 12 points, 56 shots on net, 35 hits and a minus-1 rating over 41 appearances between the Penguins and the Blue Jackets this season.

Rickard Rakell - Buries goal in win Rakell scored a goal on three shots and added two hits in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Oilers.
Impact Rakell has three goals and two helpers during his five-game point streak. His tally Thursday extended the Penguins' lead to 4-1 in the second period. The versatile forward is up to nine goals, 22 points, 91 shots, 42 hits, 26 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 30 contests this season, mainly in a top-line role.
JANUARY 23 • ROTOWIRE
Sidney Crosby - Finishes quick flurry of goals Crosby scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Oilers.
Impact Crosby finished a stretch of three goals in 37 seconds during the early stages of the first period. The 38-year-old has three goals and five helpers during his active five-game point streak. Crosby is having a superb season for a player of any age, racking up 27 goals, 57 points, 118 shots on net, 34 PIM, 42 hits, 22 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 50 appearances. His shot volume is down a bit at 2.36 per game this season compared to 3.09 shots per game across the previous four campaigns combined, but he's made up for it by shooting 22.9 percent in 2025-26. That's a red flag for the long run, but Crosby's talent is likely enough to keep him productive for the remainder of this year.
JANUARY 23 • ROTOWIRE
Evgeni Malkin - Two more points in win Malkin scored a goal, added an assist and went plus-3 in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Oilers.
Impact Malkin had a pair of points 1:58 apart in the second period as the Penguins found a second burst of offense to put the Oilers out of reach. This was Malkin's third multi-point effort in the last five games, a span in which he has two goals and five helpers. The 39-year-old forward is up to 12 goals, 39 points, 88 shots, 26 PIM and a plus-15 rating in 35 appearances this season.
JANUARY 23 • ROTOWIRE
Anthony Mantha - Tallies twice in win Mantha scored two goals on three shots in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Oilers.
Impact Mantha's goals came 22 seconds apart in the first period. He ended an 11-game goal drought with the effort. During the slump, he was limited to five assists, three of which had come over his previous four contests. The veteran winger is now at 16 goals, 34 points, 94 shots on net, 28 hits, 24 blocked shots, 15 PIM and a plus-8 rating over 50 appearances. He's on track for the first 50-point campaign of his career.
JANUARY 23 • ROTOWIRE
Arturs Silovs - Cruises to win Silovs stopped 30 of 32 shots in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Oilers.
Impact Silovs got all the help he needed in the first three minutes of the game, as the Penguins scored three times in a span of 37 seconds. The 24-year-old netminder had suffered some misfortune during a three-game losing streak (0-2-1), in which he allowed just six goals on 81 shots. Silovs is now up to 9-6-8 with a 3.00 GAA and an .892 save percentage over 23 appearances. Stuart Skinner will likely be back between the pipes for Sunday's road-trip finale in Vancouver.

Kris Letang - Not available against Oilers Letang (upper body) won't be an option for Thursday's matchup in Edmonton and is still considered day-to-day, per Josh Yohe of The Athletic.
Impact While Letang won't be available Thursday, the Penguins will get Erik Karlsson (lower body) back in the lineup in Edmonton. Letang's next chance to suit up will be in Vancouver on Sunday, when Pittsburgh concludes its road trip. Letang has generated three goals, 25 points, 77 shots, 65 hits, 60 blocks and a plus-5 rating across 48 appearances in 2025-26.

Arturs Silovs - Defending crease in Edmonton Silovs will be between the road pipes against the Oilers on Thursday, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports.
Impact Despite posting a .926 save percentage and 1.93 GAA over his last three outings, Silovs is 0-1-2 in that span. The 24-year-old had won four straight contests prior to his current three-game losing streak, but he had a 3.17 GAA and an .871 save percentage during that aforementioned winning streak, so it's been a puzzling stretch of late for Silovs. The Latvian netminder will face an Edmonton squad that sits fifth in the NHL with 3.35 goals per game this season but will be without Leon Draisaitl (personal) on Thursday.
JANUARY 23 • ROTOWIRE
Erik Karlsson - Removed from IR Karlsson (lower body) was activated off injured reserve ahead of Thursday's game in Edmonton.
Impact Ryan Graves (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. It was reported Jan. 13 that the 35-year-old Karlsson would be out of action for at least two weeks, but the veteran blueliner seemingly made strides in his recovery and is poised to return to the lineup Thursday in Edmonton. If Kris Letang (upper body) isn't able to suit up, Karlsson may have a big workload in store if he's 100 percent healthy.
JANUARY 23 • ROTOWIRE
Ryan Graves - Placed on injured reserve Graves (undisclosed) was put on injured reserve Thursday.
Impact Graves has a goal, eight PIM, 15 hits and 35 blocks in 19 outings in 2025-26. Erik Karlsson (lower body) was activated off injured reserve in a corresponding move. Graves played in Wednesday's 4-1 win over Calgary, so putting him on IR means that he isn't eligible to play Thursday in Edmonton or Sunday in Vancouver.
