Filip Larsson - Waived unconditionally Larsson was placed on unconditional waivers Tuesday for the purpose of terminating his contract, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Impact Larsson has appeared in just nine games for AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, posting a 3-2-1 record, .876 save percentage and 3.51 GAA. The backstop was set to hit unrestricted free agency this offseason anyway, so this will free up a contract spot for the Penguins. Larsson was, at best, third on the AHL depth chart behind Sergei Murashov and Joel Blomqvist, so this move makes plenty of sense for both sides.

Stuart Skinner - Scheduled to start on Long Island Skinner is slated to start in Tuesday's road divisional matchup versus the Islanders, according to NHL.com.
Impact Skinner will tend the twine in the second half of Pittsburgh's back-to-back after Arturs Silovs was in goal for Monday's 3-2 loss to Ottawa. The Islanders also played Monday, losing 4-1 to the Capitals, so neither team has the rest advantage Tuesday. Skinner faced the Isles on Oct. 16 when he was with the Oilers, making 21 saves on 24 shots in a 4-2 loss. The 27-year-old netminder is 2-2-0 with a .900 save percentage and a 2.53 GAA over four career appearances against the Islanders.

Impact Malkin recorded the primary assist on Yegor Chinakhov's opening goal in the first period. With the helper, the 39-year-old Malkin reached the 30-assist mark for the season, which secured his fourth consecutive campaign above that total. Overall, the veteran forward is up to 43 points across 39 games this season, which ranks him in a tie for 20th in the NHL with 1.10 points per game. Since his return from an upper-body injury in early January, he has at least one point in 11 of 13 games and has 14 points in that span. He should continue to elevate the team's top six and play a large role in Pittsburgh's playoff push in the Metropolitan Division, giving him strong value across most fantasy formats.

Yegor Chinakhov - Records pair of points Monday Chinakhov scored a goal, distributed an assist and placed three shots on net in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Senators.
Impact Just one day after his 25th birthday, Chinakhov received a present of a pass from his linemate Evgeni Malkin to cash in his seventh goal since debuting for the Penguins on Dec. 29. Chinakhov's move from Columbus to Pittsburgh has gone swimmingly, as he holds a second-line role and has recorded nine of his 15 points this season with the black and gold. At his current scoring pace, he has a chance to flirt with a new career high in both goals and points if he can surpass either of the numbers he set during his 16-goal, 29-point campaign across 53 regular-season games with the Blue Jackets during the 2023-24 campaign. Chinakhov is one of the top options on the waiver in standard fantasy formats and is set to play a big role with the Penguins for the foreseeable future.

Thomas Novak - Lights lamp in loss Novak scored a goal in Monday's 3-2 loss to Ottawa.
Impact Novak's tally midway through Monday's final period tied the game at two goals apiece before Ottawa's Claude Giroux scored the game-winner six minutes later. Novak's twine finder brings him up to 10 goals on the season to go along with 29 points and 81 shots on net across 54 games. The goal helped him secure his fourth consecutive campaign reaching the double-digit goal mark. His first full season in Pittsburgh has taken a step up as of late with eight points over his last nine games. His role centering the team's second line alongside Yegor Chinakhov and Evgeni Malkin has elevated the 28-year-old's ceiling in fantasy, giving Novak decent streaming value in deep leagues. Look for him to challenge his career high of 45 points by the end of the regular season.

Arturs Silovs - Faces high volume in loss Silovs stopped 28 of 31 shots on goal in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Senators.
Impact Silovs put together a solid performance through the first two periods, as he allowed just one goal, before the Senators struck the back of the net twice in the third to steal the win. Following Monday's loss, the 24-year-old Silovs now holds a 10-7-8 record, a 2.97 GAA and an .895 save percentage across 25 outings this season. Monday's loss snapped his two-game win streak, where he played a solid part in the Penguins' run of six consecutive wins to wrap up their January slate. While Stuart Skinner has caught fire and holds the larger share of the workload in net, Silovs remains a solid spot start in deep fantasy leagues when he's called upon.
