Rickard Rakell - Scores late equalizer Rakell scored a goal in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Blue Jackets.

Impact Rakell has found the back of the net in back-to-back games for the first time this season. Even though injuries have limited to only 21 games so far, he hasn't exactly set the world on fire with his performances and has tallied a mere 15 points (six goals, nine assists) over that stretch.

Thomas Novak - Tallies PP goal Sunday Novak scored a power-play goal in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Blue Jackets.

Impact Novak has found the back of the net in two of his last four games and snapped a two-game pointless skid. The second-line center hasn't been very productive, however, and this was only his eighth goal of the campaign. He's netted three of those eight goals on the power play while posting 21 points in 41 contests. He's on pace to reach the 40-point plateau for the first time since the 2023-24 campaign.

Impact It was an empty netter insurance snipe late in the third. Rakell has 14 points (five goals, nine assists) and 54 shots in 20 games this season. The pace is well off his 35-goal, 70-point career mark set last season, but that was built off the back of an outrageously high 17.2 shooting percentage. Some regression was expected, but he has struggled to find his groove since his return mid-December from a broken left hand. Rakell has just two goals and four assists in 11 games, although his 37 shots are solid. That left hand is his top hand, and he returned on the short end of a six-to-eight week recovery from surgery. That recovery may be upon us -- he has 10 shots in his last two games, and that may make him a sneaky waiver grab.
