Tristan Broz - Four points in AHL win Broz scored a goal and added three assists in AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's 5-1 win over Charlotte on Friday.
Impact Broz was limited to just seven points in 12 outings in December, so this was a positive performance to get him back on track. The 23-year-old winger is now at 11 goals and 24 points over 32 appearances this season. He's also earned a call-up and his NHL debut this season, but Broz will need to continue to play well with WBS to get more opportunities with the big club.

Caleb Jones - Return date in sight Jones (lower body) is targeting Jan. 17 against Columbus to be cleared to play, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.
Impact Jones has been on the shelf since Oct. 23 versus the Panthers due to his lower-body injury. The blueliner has started skating in a non-contact jersey and participating in practices. Even once given the all-clear, Jones is far from a lock to suit up on a nightly basis, and would have to push Jack St. Ivany or Ryan Shea out of the lineup.

Blake Lizotte - Solid play continues with goal Lizotte scored a goal and blocked two shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over New Jersey.
Impact Lizotte placed the finishing touches on a big win with his goal over the halfway point in the third period. Since his return to the lineup from an upper-body injury, he has two goals and five points in six games. Overall, the 28-year-old forward is up to five goals, 10 points, 35 shots on net and 31 hits through 33 games this season. While he struggled to build traction offensively in the first half of the season, his recent surge during the Penguins' win streak gives him decent streaming value in deep fantasy leagues that value category coverage.

Sidney Crosby - Tallies two assists Thursday Crosby dished out two assists and recorded two hits in Thursday's 4-1 win over New Jersey.
Impact Crosby picked up a secondary helper on Erik Karlsson's opening goal before he later set up Evgeni Malkin for a power-play score in his return to the lineup. With the pair of apples, Crosby is up to 25 assists, 49 points, 100 shots on net and 37 hits through 42 games this season. Sid the Kid hasn't shown any signs of aging over his eight-game point streak, where he has five goals and 14 points. The 38-year-old center is only set to benefit further with Malkin's return to the lineup, which should help Crosby produce more consistently with a man advantage moving forward. He remains on pace to finish the season with 90-plus points for the fourth consecutive year.

Rickard Rakell - Plates pair of helpers in win Rakell distributed two assists and placed four shots on net in Thursday's 4-1 win over New Jersey.
Impact Rakell chipped in on goals scored by Erik Karlsson on Connor Dewar for Pittsburgh's first two tallies of Thursday's contest. With the pair of helpers, Rakell is up to 11 assists, 17 points, 63 shots on net, 32 hits and 21 blocks through 22 games this season. The 32-year-old forward has built up a three-game point streak, which is the longest since his return from a hand injury in mid-December. While the aforementioned injury will likely keep him from replicating the career year he had a season ago, he remains a cash cow for steady all-around production, as he is averaging nearly a point, three shots on goal, one and a half hits and a block per game when healthy. His role on Pittsburgh's top line should give him a strong chance to chase the 40-point mark, which would salvage a season riddled with an injury and give him solid fantasy value in standard formats moving forward.

Connor Dewar - Grabs two points Thursday Dewar tallied a goal, recorded an assist and served two PIM in Thursday's 4-1 win over New Jersey.
Impact Dewar posted his first multi-point game of the season Thursday in an effort highlighted by his go-ahead goal early in the second period. Following his two-point night, the 26-year-old forward has eight goals, eight assists, 65 shots on net and 76 hits through 42 games this season. He currently has a three-game point streak, his longest run of the season. Unlike a majority of fourth-line players, Dewar has provided relatively consistent offense throughout the course of the season to supplement his solid category coverage. His first full season with the Penguins has been a success thus far, as he sits just three points shy of tying his career-high point total. While he looks to add onto his point streak, he has solid value in deep fantasy leagues that value category coverage due to his ability to check multiple boxes statistically.

Erik Karlsson - One of each in win Karlsson scored a goal, tallied an assist and put two shots on net in Thursday's 4-1 win over New Jersey.
Impact Karlsson tallied the opening goal for Pittsburgh just under seven minutes into the first period before picking up a secondary helper on Evgeni Malkin's power-play score. With the pair of points, Karlsson now has four goals, 29 assists, 92 shots on net and 40 blocks through 42 games this season. During the Penguins' six-game win streak, the 35-year-old blueliner has been a steady contributor to the offense with seven points, which include two multi-assist outings. The Pens' top defenseman ranks inside the top 10 in points among blueliners across the NHL and is tied for sixth in assists. While he likely won't reach the 100-point threshold again, Karlsson should continue to quarterback the team's top power-play unit, which should give him a solid chance at posting his best offensive season with Pittsburgh if he can surpass the 56 points he had during the 2023-24 season.
JANUARY 9 • ROTOWIRE
Evgeni Malkin - Finds twine in return Malkin scored a power-play goal, fired four shots on net, served two PIM and dished out two hits in Thursday's 4-1 win over New Jersey.
Impact Malkin ripped a one-timer to score on a power play in his return from an upper-body injury, which kept him sidelined for 15 games. With his effort in the triumphant return, the 20-year NHL veteran has nine goals, 30 points and 70 shots on net through 27 games this season. While the Penguins had their ups and downs without Malkin in the lineup, his return serves as an immediate boost to their lineup. Dating back to the games prior to his injury, the 39-year-old center has a three-game point streak and has failed to find the scoresheet just six times when healthy this season. While he slotted into Thursday's lineup as the second-line left winger, he will likely be eased back into his regular role up the center of the ice over the next few games. If Malkin ended up on fantasy waivers due to injury, he is a priority add in all league formats and remains on pace for 60-plus points this season.

Stuart Skinner - Excels in net Thursday Skinner halted 28 of 29 shots on net in Thursday's 4-1 win over New Jersey.
Impact Skinner was perfect at even strength Thursday, as he allowed just one power-play tally early in the third period en route to his third consecutive win. With Thursday's victory, he is up to a 14-11-1 overall record, a 2.77 GAA and an .892 save percentage across 29 games between Edmonton and Pittsburgh this season. After three consecutive losses to start his tenure with the Penguins, the 27-year-old netminder has a 3-0-0 record with a 1.00 GAA and a .957 save percentage over his last three starts. Pittsburgh has won each of its last six games and will need Skinner to keep up at least a fraction of his recent form if the Penguins are to make a push for a playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division. Regardless of his past struggles for consistency, the polarizing goalie is a top streaming option in fantasy formats while he soars on his current win streak.
