Mrazek had a rough end to his Chicago tenure, giving up five goals in three of his last four outings, but with Cam Talbot having lost four straight starts and Alex Lyon looking unimpressive of late, the door could be open for Detroit's newest netminder to see a significant workload as the team tries to push its way into a playoff spot.

Impact Mrazek went 10-19-2 with a 3.46 GAA in his 33 appearances for the Blackhawks this season and will now play his first game for the Red Wings since 2017-18. Selected by the organization in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL Draft, the Czech backstop will have to split the workload with Cam Talbot and Alex Lyon, which means his opportunities to start may be limited the rest of the way.

Impact Mrazek hasn't been particularly sharp in recent weeks, as he's gone 3-5-1 with a 3.98 GAA and .885 save percentage over 10 appearances since the start of the calendar year. The Blackhawks recently added another goaltender by acquiring Spencer Knight as part of the trade that sent Seth Jones to Florida, and Mrazek will have a chance for a fresh start while returning to the team that drafted him in 2010. Cam Talbot and Alex Lyon have been relatively solid for the Red Wings this season, so Mrazek may not have an opportunity to carve out significant playing time unless the team makes another move ahead of Friday's trade deadline.

The 33-year-old still had an ugly outing, which lasted just one period before Arvid Soderblom took over in goal for the final two frames. Mrazek has allowed five goals in three of his last four games, going 1-3-0 in that span. For the season, he remains at 10-19-2 with a 3.46 GAA and an .890 save percentage. If his performance continues to slip, it may open the door for Soderblom to challenge for the No. 1 job.
