Kaapo Kahkonen - Hits waivers for AHL assignment Kahkonen was placed on waivers by the Canadiens for the purpose of assignment to AHL Laval, the team announced Sunday.
Impact Last season, Kahkonen played only one NHL game, the least amount of NHL games he's played in a season since he made his NHL debut in the 2019-20 season. For the upcoming season, he will at least begin the year in the AHL, where he played 36 games split between Colorado, Charlotte and Manitoba.

Sammy Blais - Hits waivers for AHL assignment Blais was placed on waivers by the Canadiens for the purpose of assignment to AHL Laval, the team announced Sunday.
Impact Blais is in his first year as a member of the Canadiens organization, and he will begin the season in the AHL. The 29-year-old spent the entirety of last season with AHL Abbotsford, enjoying a good season with 59 points in 74 games, regular season and playoffs.
