Jesperi Kotkaniemi - Scoring drought continuesKotkaniemi extended his pointless streak to 10 games in Saturday's 1-0 overtime win against the Devils, and saw his ice time dip to a season-low 6:52
ImpactAfter recording a career-high 43 points last season, Kotkaniemi has regressed badly this year, with just 18 points in 51 games. He's currently toiling on the Canes' fourth line, but given the sharp decline in his TOI, it may be just a matter of time before Kotkaniemi is watching from the press box.

Sebastian Aho - Scores in overtimeAho potted the only goal of the game in Saturday's 1-0 overtime win over the Devils.
ImpactIt was a classic goaltending duel all night between Pyotr Kochetkov and Vitek Vanecek, one that seemed destined for a shootout until Aho decided to change that. After dropping the puck for Martin Necas, he cut across the grain and fired a shot on Vanecek. The puck rebounded off the netminder's shoulder and sat floating until Aho batted out of the air and into the net. Aho added three shots on goal, and a plus-1 rating in 22:40 TOI to lead all forwards. The 26-year old center is now on a modest three-game point streak.

The puck seemingly sat in the air for seconds until Aho batted it out of the air into the back of the net for the game's only goal to win it in overtime. Necas finished with 2 PIM, one shot on goal and a plus-1 rating in 18:56 TOI. The 25-year old winger has nine points, seven of them being goals, in his past eight games.
