Jacob Markstrom - Starting against Vegas Markstrom will serve as the starting goaltender for Sunday's road game against the Golden Knights, Sam Kasan of the Devils' official site reports.
Impact Markstrom was activated off injured reserve Sunday, and he's been cleared to make his first appearance since Jan. 22. Over 36 appearances this season, the 35-year-old has gone 21-9-5 with a 2.20 GAA and .912 save percentage.

Nico Daws - Assigned to AHL Daws was assigned to AHL Utica on Sunday.
Impact Daws had been solid over three appearances since the 4 Nations Face-Off break, posting a 2-0-0 record, 0.49 GAA and .981 save percentage. However, he'll head back to the minors after Jacob Markstrom (knee) was activated off injured reserve.

Impact Markstrom has been sidelined since late January due to a sprained MCL, but he's been activated ahead of Sunday's road matchup in Vegas. It's not yet clear whether he'll start against the Golden Knights, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him do so since the Devils are playing the second half of a back-to-back set. Markstrom should see ample playing time in the near future since Jake Allen hasn't been particularly sharp in recent starts.

Impact The helper snapped a 13-game slump for Kovacevic, while went minus-3 with 21 hits and 17 blocked shots in that span. The 27-year-old blueliner has been a moderately effective shutdown defender in 2024-25. He's recorded 14 points, including a career-high 13 assists, while adding 58 shots on net, 79 blocked shots, 82 hits and a plus-12 rating across 61 appearances. He needs just two points to set a career high, which would surpass the 15 he had with the Canadiens in 2022-23.

Impact Tatar has a goal and two assists over his last five contests. The 34-year-old winger hasn't been very consistent on offense this season, leading to him playing in a bottom-six role, but he remains in the lineup on a regular basis. He's collected 15 points, 52 shots on net, 39 hits and a plus-3 rating over 55 appearances. There are better options available on the waiver wire in many fantasy formats.

Impact Mercer's offense hasn't been very good lately. He's gotten on the scoresheet in just four of his last 12 games, earning three goals and two assists in that span, which follows a six-game slump from Jan. 9-19. The 23-year-old forward is up to 13 goals, 13 helpers, 101 shots on net and a plus-10 rating through 61 appearances this season. While he remains a middle-six fixture in the lineup, Mercer is on pace for production similar to his 33-point effort in 2023-24, which is only really useful in deeper fantasy formats.

Impact Hughes has four helpers over his last three games. He briefly left Saturday's contest after taking a hit late in the second period, but he was able to finish the game with 22:42 of ice time. Hughes' role has grown as the season has progressed, and he's meeting the challenge. He's up to 26 points, 81 shots on net, 45 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 52 appearances this season.
