Shane Pinto - Hat trick Saturday Pinto scored three goals, including one on the power play and one shorthanded, and added an assist in Saturday's preseason win over the Canadiens.
Impact The 23-year-old potted his first two goals inside the first six minutes of the first period, staking the Senators to a lead they wouldn't relinquish. Pinto should be Ottawa's No. 3 center when everyone is healthy, with with Tim Stutzle (upper body) potentially banged up to begin the regular season, he could see top-six shifts out of the gate. Pinto missed half the 2023-24 campaign due to a suspension, but he was productive once he got on the ice with nine goals and 27 points in 41 games.

Linus Ullmark - Cruises to preseason win Ullmark stopped 23 shots in Saturday's preseason win over the Canadiens.
Impact Shane Pinto scored twice in the first six minutes of the first period en route to a hat trick, and Ullmark made sure Montreal never got level in a 4-2 win. The veteran netminder won't enjoy the same kind of stingy defense he played behind in Boston, but as Ottawa's unquestioned No. 1 in the crease, Ullmark should also top the career-high 49 games played he recorded in 2022-23 -- helping to mitigate the fantasy impact of any regression in his GAA and save percentage.
