Tallies first goal with New Jersey Tsyplakov scored a goal and dished out three hits in Thursday's 5-4 loss to Calgary.

Impact Tsyplakov found the back of the net for New Jersey's first tally of the game, cutting their initial two-goal deficit in half. The goal was also his first for New Jersey after he was acquired by the team from the Islanders in the trade involving Ondrej Palat. Tsyplakov now has three points, 32 shots on net and 62 hits through 38 games this season. He holds limited upside in fantasy outside of deep league formats that value banger stats over offensive production.

Remains with team Tsyplakov will remain with the Devils after clearing waivers Friday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Impact The move allows the Devils to send Tsyplakov to the minors over the next 30 days without requiring waivers. He has yet to pick up a point in nine games with New Jersey since his trade from the Islanders on Jan. 27. It has been a lost year for the Russian who managed one goal and one assist in 27 games with the Islanders before the trade.

Impact Tsyplakov ended his 20-game point drought with the helper. He last got on the scoresheet with a goal Oct. 25, also against the Flyers, and he was scratched 22 times between points. Tsyplakov has a long way to go to be a regular in the lineup -- he drew in Monday because Simon Holmstrom (illness) and Calum Ritchie (lower body) were unavailable.

Playing time remains thin Tsyplakov has played in five of the Islanders' 11 games since the start of January after sitting out Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Sabres.

Impact Tsyplakov has filled a rotational role on the fourth line. The Islanders have a full complement of 14 healthy forwards currently, leaving Tsyplakov in a tough spot to get playing time. He's gone 20 games without a point while getting scratched 23 times in that span, and he's been limited to one goal, 21 shots and a minus-10 rating over 26 outings in total.

Impact Tsyplakov and the Islanders were slated to go to arbitration but avoid it with the deal. The 26-year-old had an up-and-down rookie season with New York, generating 10 goals and 25 assists across 77 regular-season contests. Tsyplakov is likely to see a middle-six role in 2025-26 and is expected to put up similar numbers as he did last season.

Impact Tsyplakov has two goals and three assists over his last seven contests. This was his first power-play point since Nov. 23, though the Islanders' struggles with the man advantage have played a significant role in that. For the season, the winger has 10 goals, 35 points, 111 shots on net, 138 hits, 37 PIM and a plus-7 rating over 73 appearances.
