Alex Laferriere - Pots goal in loss Laferriere scored a goal on two shots, blocked two shots and went minus-2 in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Bruins.
Impact Laferriere has done well in a top-six role so far this season, earning two goals and two assists over six contests. That comes with the caveat that the Kings have scored just 12 goals. Laferriere has added 11 shots on net, 18 hits, six blocked shots and a minus-2 rating. He has plenty of fantasy potential as a power forward, especially once the Kings' offense improves as a whole.

Anton Forsberg - Falls short against Bruins Forsberg stopped 24 of 26 shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Bruins. The last two goals were empty-netters.
Impact Forsberg put in a decent effort, but the Kings didn't give him enough help. He's now allowed seven goals on 60 shots over three appearances (two starts) this season. The light schedule hasn't helped the Kings get on track -- they've had at least two days off between each game so far. That will change as they head on the road for five games over eight games, beginning against the Capitals on Tuesday. With a back-to-back to close out the trip, Forsberg should get at least one start and likely two during the trip if Darcy Kuemper continues to struggle.

Anton Forsberg - Defending crease Saturday Forsberg will protect the home net against Boston on Saturday, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.
Impact During his first start of 2026-27, Forsberg allowed five goals on 25 shots in a 5-4 overtime loss to San Jose on Oct. 3. He made nine saves on nine shots in relief of Darcy Kuemper in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Edmonton. Boston (6-2-0) ranks seventh in the league this season with 3.75 goals per game.

Impact Jared Wright was returned to the minors in a corresponding move. Ward has two goals and three points in four outings with Ontario in 2026-27. The 28-year-old Ward might serve on the fourth line against Boston on Saturday.

Jared Wright - Brought up by Kings Wright was recalled from AHL Ontario on Thursday, per John Hoven of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio.
Impact Wright is expected to join the Kings at Thursday's practice ahead of their upcoming clash against the Bruins on Saturday. Across three games with AHL Ontario this season, the 23-year-old winger has two goals, three points, a plus-1 rating and eight shots on net. Wright will likely be the Kings' fourth-line right winger for the time being with Mats Zuccarello (undisclosed) and Alex Turcotte (undisclosed) on injured reserve.

Scott Laughton - Records helper in loss Laughton notched an assist and two hits in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Oilers.
Impact This was Laughton's first point in five games this season. The 32-year-old center has filled a middle-six role with minimal power-play time, and the Kings' struggles on offense certainly have helped his output. He has earned eight shots on net, 12 hits, four blocked shots, seven PIM and a minus-2 rating. The Kings are still tinkering with line combinations under new head coach Peter Laviolette, so Laughton could move around a bit more until something clicks.

Brandt Clarke - Scores lone goal in loss Clarke scored a goal on six shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Oilers.
Impact While the Kings have started the year poorly, Clarke's offense has been a bright spot. The goal was his first of the year to go with three assists and 15 shots on net. The 23-year-old defenseman hasn't been credited with a hit yet, but he has racked up 15 PIM and nine blocked shots, showing multiple ways to frustrate opponents. As long as the penalties don't become reckless, Clarke is a lock to handle top-four minutes.

Impact The only goal Edmonton scored over the final two periods was an empty-netter. Forsberg obviously didn't face a lot of traffic, but he took care of what came his way, which is better than he did in his Oct. 3 start against the Sharks. He's given up five goals on 34 shots over two outings this season. With the Kings starting the year 0-3-2, the starting job in goal is up for grabs. Their next game is at home versus the Bruins on Saturday.

Impact Kuemper only last through the first period. The 36-year-old remains winless on the year, going 0-3-1 with 15 goals allowed on 98 shots. Anton Forsberg stopped all nine shots he faced over the final two periods, though the Kings weren't able to get back into the contest. Kuemper's status as the starting goalie is on thin ice, especially if he can't some positive results soon. The Kings are off until they host the Bruins on Saturday.
