Back with Czech team Plasek agreed to a one-year contract with HC Olomouc of the Czech Extraliga on Sunday.

Impact Plasek was acquired by Pittsburgh from Vancouver on Oct. 17 prior to being placed on unconditional waivers a day later to terminate his contract. The 23-year-old forward registered six goals and 15 points in 31 games for HC Olomouc last season.

Waived unconditionally Plasek has been placed on unconditional waivers by the Penguins on Wednesday in order to terminate his contract, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Impact Plasek's tenure with the organization didn't last long as he was just acquired via trade from Vancouver on Tuesday. The 23-year-old winger spent all of last season playing in his native Czech Republic for Olomouc HC and likely doesn't want to make the jump to North America. This almost certainly closes the door on Plasek ever playing in the NHL.

Selected by Vancouver in the sixth round of the 2019 NHL Draft, the Czech faces an uphill battle to make his NHL debut any time soon, making him a non-factor in fantasy contests.

Sent to AHL Plasek was cut from the Canucks' training camp and assigned to AHL Abbotsford on Tuesday, per CapFriendly.

Impact Plasek had 15 points in 31 games with HC Olomouc in Czechia last season. He'll now look to a win a spot with Abbotsford this season after going without a point in eight AHL games with that club in 2021-22.
