Starting against San Jose Korpisalo will defend the home crease against San Jose on Monday, Kevin Paul Dupont of The Boston Globe reports.

Impact Korpisalo hasn't seen much playing time recently since Jeremy Swayman has emerged as Boston's clear No. 1 goaltender. Korpisalo has made just five starts since the beginning of December, going 2-2-1 with a 3.57 GAA and .867 save percentage.

Impact Korpisalo was making his first start since Dec. 27, when he gave up six goals on 33 shots in a 6-2 loss to the Blue Jackets, but he didn't have good results in this one. He's dropped three of his last four starts dating back to Dec. 12, going 1-2-1 with a 3.98 GAA and a .855 save percentage during that span.

Impact Korpisalo will get the second half of Boston's back-to-back after Jeremy Swayman played in Saturday's 6-4 loss to Toronto. The 30-year-old Korpisalo has a 7-4-1 record with two shutouts, a 2.71 GAA and an .895 save percentage through 13 appearances this season. The Islanders sit 29th in the league with 2.59 goals per game in 2024-25.

Impact Korpisalo has started in three of the Bruins' last seven games, but he's gone 1-2-0 with a 3.71 GAA and a .849 save percentage in that span. He's been hit or miss during that span, so the numbers don't tell the whole story. He gave up one goal on 20 shots in the home win over the Sabres on Dec. 21, but in the two road losses, against the Kraken and Blue Jackets, he's stopped only 43 of the 53 shots he faced.
