INJURIES

Needed in relief in Sunday's loss Korpisalo turned aside all six shots he faced after replacing Jeremy Swayman early in the third period Sunday during the Bruins' 6-1 loss to the Sabres in Game 4 of their first-rou...
Impact It was the first action of the playoffs for Korpisalo, and Sunday's result had little to do with Swayman, who was simply hung out to dry by his defense. With the Bruins facing elimination in Game 5 on Tuesday, coach Marco Sturm could give Korpisalo the start in an attempt to light a fire under his squad, but Swayman is more likely to be back between the pipes.

Earns win vs. Columbus Korpisalo stopped 33 of 35 shots in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.
Impact Korpisalo bounced back from losing back-to-back games in overtime to the Flyers and Hurricanes, and he recorded his first win since March 31, when he stopped 13 of 16 shots in a 6-3 victory over the Stars. Despite the 1-0-2 record in his last three outings, Korpisalo is ending the season on a strong note after posting a 1.93 GAA and .940 save percentage in those three contests. It remains to be seen whether Korpisalo or Jeremy Swayman will get the start in the regular-season finale against the Devils on Tuesday.

Kastelic scores in 3rd period to lift Bruins over Blue Jackets 3-2, into first wild-card spot

Mark Kastelic scored with 9:38 remaining and the Boston Bruins snapped a five-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over Columbus 3-2, that moved them into the first Eastern Conference...

Facing Blue Jackets Korpisalo will defend the road net against Columbus on Sunday, according to Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers.
Impact Korpisalo will get the second half of Boston's back-to-back after Jeremy Swayman played in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Tampa Bay. The 31-year-old Korpisalo has a 13-9-6 record this campaign with one shutout, a 3.19 GAA and an .892 save percentage in 30 appearances. Columbus ranks 17th in the league with 3.04 goals per game this season.

Takes OTL in relief Tuesday Korpisalo stopped 16 of 17 shots after replacing Jeremy Swayman midway through the second period of Tuesday's 6-5 overtime loss to Carolina.
Impact Korpisalo was the better of the two netminders on the night, but the OTL goes on his record after Boston rallied from a 5-3 deficit once the switch was made in the crease, only to fall short in the extra frame. Korpisalo still hasn't taken a regulation loss in over a month, going 2-0-4 in his last six outings with a 3.17 GAA and .890 save percentage.

Tagged with OT defeat Korpisalo stopped 29 of 31 shots in Sunday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Flyers.
Impact Korpisalo was beaten at the 4:19 mark of the first period and then held his own until overtime, when Porter Martone's first goal of the season gave Philly the win. Korpisalo is the No. 2 option between the pipes for Boston, and while this outing was a strong showing overall, his recent performances haven't been good. In seven appearances since the Olympic break, the 31-year-old veteran has gone 3-1-3 with a 3.42 GAA and an .887 save percentage.

Porter Martone's OT power-play goal lifts Flyers past Bruins 2-1, keeps playoff push alive

Sunday starter Korpisalo will get the start between the pipes Sunday against the Flyers, Kevin Paul Dupont of The Boston Globe reports.
Impact Korpisalo has won both of his last two starts but needed some offensive support in order to do so. The 31-year-old allowed three goals in both victories, part of a stretch of five straight games in which he's allowed at least that many. Overall, he's 13-9-4 on the season with a 3.27 GAA and an .889 save percentage. The Flyers are 22nd in the league at 2.86 goals per game.
APRIL 5 • ROTOWIRE
Second straight win Korpisalo made 13 saves in a 6-3 win over the Stars on Tuesday.
Impact The game was never in doubt for the Bruins -- they played a strong and smothering team game, and Korpisalo was solid when he needed to be. He has won two straight games and is 3-1-2 in six starts since the Olympic break. Korpisalo may get a few extra starts before season's end to ensure Jeremy Swayman is rested and ready for the postseason. Deploy him if you need wins or overtime losses, but beware the goals against and save percentage traps. In his last nine starts, Korpisalo has allowed three or more goals in eight of those games and four or more in five.

Tough assignment ahead Korpisalo will be between the home pipes against the Stars on Tuesday, according to Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald.
Impact This will be Korpisalo's fifth appearance in March. The Finnish netminder is 1-1-2 with a 4.17 GAA and an .866 save percentage over his first four outings this month. This matchup for a No. 2 goaltender is a formidable assignment against of the NHL's top teams, but the Bruins have been tremendous on home ice -- they own a 27-10-1 record at TD Garden this season.

Picks up overtime win Korpisalo stopped 22 of 25 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Sabres.
Impact Korpisalo had a lapse in the third period, giving up goals to Zach Benson and Jason Zucker just 33 seconds apart. The Bruins bounced back and won it on a Pavel Zacha tally 38 seconds into overtime. Korpisalo picked up just his second win in his last six outings, and he was under a .900 save percentage for the fifth time in that span despite the victory. For the season, the Finnish netminder is at a 12-9-4 record with a 3.28 GAA and an .891 save percentage over 27 appearances. The Bruins have a back-to-back over the weekend, hosting the Wild on Saturday before visiting the Blue Jackets on Sunday. Expect Korpisalo to split those starts with Jeremy Swayman, but with the Bruins in the thick of the playoff race, Swayman might get doubled up in one or more of the team's last three back-to-back sets this season.

Set to start Wednesday Korpisalo will guard the road goal versus the Sabres on Wednesday, Kevin Paul Dupont of The Boston Globe reports.
Impact Korpisalo will handle the second half of a back-to-back after Jeremy Swayman was in goal for Tuesday's loss to the Maple Leafs. Korpisalo is 1-1-3 with 20 goals allowed on 166 shots (.880 save percentage) in his last five outings, so facing a team as strong as the Sabres makes him a risky play in fantasy.

Burned by Devils in OT Korpisalo made 30 saves in Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to New Jersey.
Impact Boston grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first period, but Korpisalo gave it back in the second before allowing goals to grinder Paul Cotter in the third period and OT. The veteran netminder has just one win in his last six outings, going 1-1-4 since Jan. 26 with a 3.93 GAA and .876 save percentage.

Tending twine Monday Korpisalo will be between the pipes for Monday's road matchup against New Jersey, according to Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press.
Impact Korpisalo has lost his last two outings (0-1-1) while allowing 10 goals on 68 shots. He has gone 11-9-3 this season with one shutout, a 3.28 GAA and an .892 save percentage through 25 appearances. New Jersey is tied for 28th in the league with 2.61 goals per game this campaign.
MARCH 16 • ROTOWIRE
Late collapse in OT loss Korpisalo made 34 saves in Sunday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Penguins.
Impact The Bruins had built a 3-0 lead midway through the second period, but it slipped away late as Korpisalo was beaten three times on 14 shots in the third period, before Tommy Novak ripped a shot past him just 17 seconds into OT. Korpisalo has given up five goals in back-to-back starts, and over his last five outings he's gone 1-1-3 with a shaky 3.97 GAA and .874 save percentage.
