Impact Veleno split the 2024-25 campaign between Detroit and Chicago last season, racking up eight goals and nine helpers in 74 combined regular-season games. After being traded to Seattle and then bought out by the Kraken, the 25-year-old center was free to return to his native Montreal. With the Habs, Veleno should challenge for a middle-six role and figures to push for the 20-point threshold after missing that mark last time around.

Dealt to Seattle Veleno was acquired by Seattle from Chicago on Saturday in exchange for Andre Burakovsky, Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reports.

Impact Veleno's time in Chicago was a short one as he was dealt from Detroit at the trade deadline in March. The 25-year-old had three goals and seven points in 18 regular-season games with the Blackhawks, giving him eight goals and nine assists in 56 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He should be a bottom-six forward at best in Seattle.

Impact Veleno lit the lamp for Chicago's second goal of the contest just over six minutes into the first period. Overall, the 25-year-old center posted eight goals, 17 points, 139 hits and 75 shots on net in 74 games this season. Veleno's first 18 games with the Blackhawks saw him raise his play offensively with three goals and seven points in that span. He wrapped up the season with back-to-back games with a point and was a bright spot down the stretch on the Blackhawks' fourth line. He is signed through next season and should challenge for a middle-six role to begin the 2025-26 campaign.

Fantasy managers can't overreact to this two-point performance, though, as the 25-year-old has recorded only 10 points in 56 appearances this season. Thus, his fantasy upside is close to minimal.
