Joining Blueshirts on one-year deal Veleno signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with the Rangers on Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Impact Veleno saw a decrease in production during his time with Montreal in the 2025-26 campaign, recording two goals, three assists, 166 hits, 32 blocked shots and 19 PIM while averaging 12:05 of ice time across 61 regular-season appearances. He snapped a four-year streak with double-digit points but will attempt to bounce back on his one-year deal with the Rangers.

Doesn't receive qualifying offer Veleno will become an unrestricted free agent after not receiving a qualifying offer from the Canadiens on Monday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Impact Veleno went 43 games, including the playoffs, without scoring a goal this season. Along the way, the 26-year-old center generated just three assists and 32 shots while averaging 11:23 of ice time. Given his offensive limitations, Veleno is unlikely to offer much in the way of fantasy value regardless of where he signs this offseason.
