Impact Nurmi missed the start of the season due to the injury. The 20-year-old had nine goals and 31 points in 58 regular-season appearances with OHL London in 2024-25.

Impact Nurmi is expected to be sidelined until at least late October if not early November, so his designation for non-roster injured reserve shouldn't come as a surprise. Once given the green light, the Finnish winger figures to be headed to AHL Bridgeport, where he will likely play the bulk of his games this season.

Selected by the Isles in the fourth round of the 2023 NHL Draft, the 20-year-old Finn looks poised to go pro this upcoming year and could potentially make his NHL debut if he impresses with the Sound Tigers.

Joining junior club Nurmi was reassigned to OHL London on Friday.

Impact Nurmi signed an entry-level contract in June after playing in Finland last season. The 19-year-old will make the jump to North America by joining a junior club. He is still at least a couple of seasons away from making an NHL impact.
