Impact Marc-Andre Fleury took a narrow 2-1 loss to Utah on Friday, so Wallstedt will work the second half of a back-to-back. In his season debut last Sunday, Wallstedt stopped 24 of 27 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Golden Knights. He's also struggled in the AHL, but the Wild will continue to give the top prospect some looks until Filip Gustavsson (lower body) can play again.

Tastes defeat in first start Wallstedt gave up three goals on 27 shots in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Impact Victor Olofsson tallied twice and Shea Theodore had the other goal to send Wallstedt to the loss in his NHL season debut. He was called up after Saturday's game versus the Flyers because Filip Gustavsson (lower body) is dealing with an injury. Wallstedt is one of the best goalie prospects, but he has struggled at the AHL level this year, so he likely still needs more development time, which he should get once Gustavsson is back to 100 percent.

Impact Wallstedt has a 5-6-1 record with a 3.77 GAA and an .874 save percentage in 12 AHL appearances this season. The 22-year-old Wallstedt will get the second half of Minnesota's back-to-back because Filip Gustavsson (undisclosed) is unavailable, and Marc-Andre Fleury played in Saturday's 4-1 win over Philadelphia. Vegas ranks fifth in the league with 3.47 goals per game in 2024-25 and lost 6-3 to Edmonton on Saturday.

His brief stint in the NHL might have just been for developmental purposes to give him a chance to work with the big club, especially because Iowa is off until Saturday anyway. The 22-year-old has a 4.34 GAA and an .860 save percentage in 10 outings with Iowa in 2024-25.

Impact Wallstedt hasn't been exactly dominating in the minors, posting a 3-6-1 record and 4.34 GAA in 10 outings for the club. With Iowa off until Saturday's clash with AHL Milwaukee, the netminder may just be up with the big club to get the opportunity to work with the team's goalie coach and get some reps with the Wilds as a way to boost his confidence. Still, fantasy players probably should monitor the status of Filip Gustavsson and Marc-Andre Fleury ahead of puck drop against the Canucks on Tuesday.

Impact Wallstedt made his NHL debut last year, as he made three appearances for Minnesota and posted a 2-1-0 record, 3.02 GAA and .897 save percentage. He's one of the top goaltending prospects in professional hockey and could see increased work for the Wild this year, although he'll likely begin the season behind Filip Gustavsson and Marc-Andre Fleury.
