Elvis Merzlikins - Questionable for Thursday Merzlikins is questionable for Thursday's home game against Buffalo because of what's been described as physical fatigue, Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports Wednesday.
Impact Merzlikins has stopped 41 of 48 shots (.854 save percentage) across two starts this season, including a 4-3 loss to Florida on Tuesday. The Blue Jackets have already recalled goaltender Jet Greaves, so if Merzlikins isn't available Thursday, then Greaves will dress, likely as the understudy of Daniil Tarasov.

Erik Gudbranson - Lands on injured reserve Gudbranson (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.
Impact Gudbranson suffered an upper-body injury during Tuesday's game against the Panthers, and head coach Dean Evason said after the game that the injury was "not looking good." As a result, it's not very surprising to see Gudbranson land on IR, but it's not yet clear when he'll be in the mix to return. David Jiricek could take on a third-pairing role for the Blue Jackets in Gudbranson's absence.

Jet Greaves - Called up Wednesday Greaves was called up by Columbus on Wednesday.
Impact Greaves has made one appearances with AHL Cleveland this year and had a difficult time, posting a 7.01 GAA and an .800 save percentage. He has a 3.44 GAA and a .912 save percentage across 10 career NHL regular-season games. His promotion to Columbus might indicate that the availability of Elvis Merzlikins or Daniil Tarasov is in question for Thursday's home contest against Buffalo, but at the moment, neither of the Blue Jackets' regular two goaltenders have a reported injury or illness.
