Second straight loss
Wolf made 29 saves in a 5-2 loss to Columbus on Friday. He allowed four goals and picked up an assist.
Impact
Wolf has lost two straight after winning four consecutive games. But his game remains impressive overall. The rookie is 8-4-1 with a 2.59 GAA and .918 save percentage. The Flames have impressed this season, in part due to the strength of Wolf's game. Wolf has a strong technical approach and skates well, and his attention to the little details of his game are impeccable. He plays deeper in his net than most goalies his size, but it really works for him. It seems to shorten his lateral game and that improves his speed. Wolf is a long-shot to win the Calder this season, but he should be get consideration. He's that good.

Tending twine Friday
Wolf will be between the visiting pipes in Columbus on Friday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Impact
Wolf saw his four-game winning streak come to an end Monday, giving up four goals on 30 shots in a 4-3 loss in Ottawa. Wolf has been outstanding this season, going 8-3-1 with a 2.47 GAA and a .921 save percentage. Wolf will face the Blue Jackets, who are a surprisingly good scoring team this season, averaging 3.43 goals per game.

Winning streak snapped
Wolf stopped 26 of 30 shots in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Senators.
Impact
The Flames had won four straight entering Monday, while the Senators were 0-4-1 over their last five games. Wolf allowed two power-play goals and wasn't at his best generally, taking his first regulation loss over seven starts in November. This was also the second time this month he allowed more than two goals. He's now 8-3-1 with a 2.47 GAA and a .921 save percentage over 12 starts this season. With the loss, Wolf is likely to serve as backup to Dan Vladar versus the Red Wings on Wednesday, but the Flames have a back-to-back in Columbus on Friday and in Pittsburgh on Saturday, so the goalies should split that pair of games.

Slated to tend twine Monday
Wolf is expected to defend the cage for Monday's road matchup with Ottawa, Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Impact
Wolf is riding a four-game winning streak and hasn't lost in regulation in his last six outings. During his run of victories, the 23-year-old netminder is sporting a 0.98 GAA, .966 save percentage and one shutout. As long as Wolf continues this run of form, Dan Vladar will have to settle for playing second fiddle in Calgary.

Overcomes brief lapse in win
Wolf allowed two goals on 29 shots in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Rangers.
Impact
The Flames dominated the pace of play, but the game was tied at 2-2 at the second intermission after Wolf left in a pair of goals 16 seconds apart. Connor Zary saved the day in the third period with the game-winning goal, allowing Wolf to pick up his fourth straight win -- a span in which he's given up just four goals on 116 shots. The crease looks to be his as long as he keeps winning. Wolf is 8-2-1 with a 2.33 GAA and a .926 save percentage through 11 starts. The Flames' next game is Saturday at home versus the Wild.

Starting at home Thursday
Wolf will be between the home pipes for Thursday's game against the Rangers, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Impact
Wolf will tend the twine for the fourth time in the Flames' last five games. Over his last three starts, he's gone 3-0-0 with a 0.65 GAA and .977 save percentage, and he recorded his first shutout of the season in a 2-0 win over Nashville last Friday. The Rangers rank fifth in the NHL with 3.59 goals per game, but Wolf has certainly been on a hot streak lately.

Excellent in shootout win
Wolf stopped 28 of 29 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 shootout win over the Islanders.
Impact
Wolf gave up a goal to Pierre Engvall in the second period, but that was it. In the shootout, Wolf turned aside both of the Islanders' attempts to secure his fourth win in his last five outings. In that span, he's allowed just eight goals on 149 shots, a .946 save percentage. He hasn't faced many stout offenses yet, but the 23-year-old is getting some confidence with a 7-2-1 record, a 2.36 GAA and a .925 save percentage over his first 10 starts of the campaign. Head coach Ryan Huska has been rewarding wins with more work, so it could be Wolf in goal again Thursday versus the Rangers. However, neither Wolf nor Dan Vladar has started more than two games in a row yet this season.

Starting at home
Wolf will defend the home crease versus the Islanders on Tuesday, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reports.
Impact
Wolf has won his last two starts while turning aside a combined 57 of 58 shots, and that includes a 29-save shutout versus Nashville on Friday. If Wolf can keep up his current level of play, he should see the bulk of the starts going forward over fellow netminder Dan Vladar. Wolf draws a favorable matchup in the Islanders, a team that ranks 25th in league scoring with 2.61 goals per game through 18 outings.

Earns first career shutout
Wolf posted a 29-save shutout in Friday's 2-0 win over the Predators.
Impact
Wolf earned the first shutout of his career, and he's now won three of his last four starts. The 23-year-old has allowed just seven goals on 120 shots in that span. He improved to 6-2-1 with a 2.53 GAA and a .921 save percentage over nine starts this season. The Flames have pivoted to a win-and-stay-in plan for their goalies outside of back-to-back sets in November, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Wolf start Tuesday versus the Islanders.
