Impact Two of Shore's five points this season have come in his last three games. The 28-year-old got his first goal of the campaign at 7:50 of the second period in Thursday's lopsided win. The Ontario native has added 19 shots on net, 37 hits, 20 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 32 contests in a fourth-line role. As long as Evander Kane (upper body) and Klim Kostin (illness) are out, Shore's spot in the lineup should be safe.

He made the most of the rare opportunity, setting up Tyson Barrie's second-period tally. Shore has four helpers, 18 shots on net, 34 hits, 16 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating while averaging just 8:40 of ice time per game over 30 contests this season. Once the Oilers' forward group is healthy again, Shore will likely be sent back to AHL Bakersfield since he cleared waivers last Monday.

Impact Shore's demotion to the minors is likely an indication that Klim Kostin (undisclosed) will be cleared to play against the Red Wings on Wednesday, though the team hasn't officially confirmed that. Considering Shore hasn't reached the 15-point mark since 2018-19, he probably shouldn't be expected to offer much in the way of offensive production even if called back up at some point.
