Takes tough loss to Sens Vladar stopped 31 shots in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Senators.
Impact Making his third straight start, Vladar delivered another strong effort in the Philly crease, but his offense couldn't solve Linus Ullmark after Tyson Foerster scored on the Flyers' first shot of the night. Vladar appears to have moved ahead of Samuel Ersson for the No. 1 job, at least for now, and he's earned the assignment by allowing two goals or fewer in each of his first five outings with Philadelphia, en route to a 3-2-0 record, 1.81 GAA and .932 save percentage.

Linus Ullmark makes 22 saves in the Senators' 2-1 victory over the Flyers

Linus Ullmark made 22 saves after allowing a goal on Philadelphia’s first shot and the Ottawa Senators rallied to beat the Flyers 2-1 on Thursday night

In goal Thursday Vladar will get the starting nod on the road against the Senators on Thursday.
Impact Vladar will be making his third consecutive start for the Flyers, having secured victories in each of his previous three outings while posting a 1.65 GAA. At this point, it seems clear that the 28-year-old backstop has replaced Samuel Ersson as the No. 1 option under head coach Rick Tocchet. With no back-to-backs on the short-term schedule, Vladar should see plenty of starts heading into November.

Notches third straight win Vladar made 21 saves in Monday's 5-2 win over the Kraken.
Impact The only two pucks to get past Vladar came on a deflected point shot and a Seattle power play. The 28-year-old netminder is staking an early claim to the top job in the Philly crease -- he has yet to allow more than two goals in a start this season, winning three straight games and Vladar has posted a 1.75 GAA, .929 save percentage and 3-1-0 record through four outings.

Defending home crease Vladar will serve as the starting netminder at home against the Kraken on Monday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Impact Vladar will draw the start in a second consecutive game after he alternated starts with Samuel Ersson over the first five matchups of the season. Over Vladar's first three appearances of the season, he's gone 2-1-0 with a 1.66 GAA and .934 save percentage.

Continues strong start with victory Vladar stopped 15 of 16 shots he faced during Saturday's 2-1 win over the Wild.
Impact Vladar has yet to allow more than two goals in his three starts so far this season, continuing that streak by limiting a Wild attack that mustered just 16 shots to one goal. His other two starts came against the reigning Stanley Cup champions in Florida. It's early, but the 28-year-old is certainly making his case to be the undisputed number one goaltender in Philadelphia; he's posted a 2-1-0 record, 1.65 GAA and a .934 save percentage on the young season against some tough competition.

Continues strong start with victory Vladar stopped 15 of 16 shots in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win over the Wild.
Impact Vladar has yet to allow more than two goals in his three starts so far this season, continuing that streak by limiting a Wild attack that mustered just 16 shots and scored once. His other two starts came against the reigning Stanley Cup champions in Florida. It's early, but the 28-year-old is certainly making his case to be the undisputed number one goaltender in Philadelphia; he's posted a 2-1-0 record, 1.65 GAA and a .934 save percentage against some tough competition. Still, Vladar will probably continue to alternate starts with Samuel Ersson for now.
OCTOBER 19 • ROTOWIRE
First off Saturday Vladar was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports, indicating he will guard the home goal against Minnesota on Saturday.
Impact Vladar made 24 stops in Monday's 5-2 win over Florida. He has a 1-1-0 record this season while turning aside 56 of 60 shots. Minnesota has accounted for 15 goals through five games to begin the 2025-26 campaign.
OCTOBER 18 • ROTOWIRE
Collects first win as Flyer Vladar made 24 saves in Monday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.
Impact Both Florida goals came on special teams, as Sam Reinhart scored a shortie on a third effort right before the end of the second period, before Sam Bennett slotted home a power-play tally midway through the third. Otherwise it was a strong showing between the pipes for Vladar, who is 1-1-0 through his first two starts for Philly while allowing four goals on 60 shots. Vladar figures to work in a timeshare with Samuel Ersson to begin the season, but if either netminder gets hot, they could stake a claim to the No. 1 job.
OCTOBER 14 • ROTOWIRE
Exits ice first Vladar was the first goalie off the ice Monday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports, indicating he'll guard the cage at home versus the Panthers.
Impact Vladar will make his second start of the year after stopping 32 of 34 shots in the season opener versus the Panthers on Thursday. Through the first three games of the year, Vladar has been evenly splitting the crease with Samuel Ersson, a trend that could continue until one of the two can separate himself from the other.
OCTOBER 13 • ROTOWIRE
Strong play not enough Vladar made 32 saves in a 2-1 loss to Florida on Thursday.
Impact Anton Lundell beat him early in the second period on the power play, and Brad Marchand put a shot over his left shoulder early in the third for the winner. This could be a long season for Vladar, who played well behind a young team learning a new system under coach Rick Tocchet. The Flyers also took five minor penalties to the Panthers' two.
OCTOBER 10 • ROTOWIRE
Named Opening Night starter Vladar will start Thursday's Opening Night matchup on the road against Florida, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.
Impact Vladar was the first goalie off following Thursday's morning skate, and head coach Rick Tocchet officially named him the Opening Night starter afterward. Vladar made 30 regular-season appearances for Calgary last year, going 11-6-2 with a 2.80 GAA and .898 save percentage. Samuel Ersson will likely see the majority of starts for the Flyers this year, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the two netminders in some sort of timeshare.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Set to start Saturday Vladar is expected to start Saturday's preseason game at home against the Devils, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.
Impact Samuel Ersson is slated to play the full game during Thursday's exhibition matchup against the Islanders, but head coach Rick Tocchet said that Vladar is slated to handle goaltending duties for the entirety of Saturday's preseason finale. Vladar made 30 regular-season appearances for the Flames last year and went 12-11-6 with a 2.80 GAA and .898 save percentage, and he should serve as the No. 2 netminder in Philadelphia to begin the 2025-26 campaign after signing with the Flyers during the offseason.
OCTOBER 2 • ROTOWIRE
Tending twine Monday Vladar will defend the road net in Monday's preseason game versus Boston, according to Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
Impact Vladar will play the entire game against the Bruins. He stopped eight of the nine shots he faced in one period of work in a 5-1 loss to Washington on Thursday. Vladar could compete with Samuel Ersson for playing time this campaign.
SEPTEMBER 29 • ROTOWIRE
Slated to start Thursday Vladar is slated to start Thursday's preseason game on the road against the Capitals, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.
Impact While the 28-year-old will draw the start Thursday, head coach Rick Tocchet said that Vladar will only play the first period against Washington. The Flyers have been cautious with their top netminders during the preseason, but Vladar and Samuel Ersson are expected to play in full exhibition games next week.
