INJURIES

Leaves practice early Lindgren suffered an undisclosed injury at Monday's practice, Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental Sports Network reports.
Impact Lindgren's current injury concern is reportedly unrelated to the back problem that previously forced him to spend some time on injured reserve. Without any back-to-backs on the schedule this week, it's possible that Lindgren won't miss any potential starts. Even once Lindgren is back to 100 percent, Darcy Kuemper figures to remain the primary starter.

Expected to return as backup Sunday Lindgren (back) is expected to return as Darcy Kuemper's backup Sunday versus the Sharks, Matt Weyrich of NBC Sports Washington.
Impact Lindgren has been out since hurting his back in practice Oct. 16. He was activated from injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site. The 29-year-old netminder has played just one game this season, allowing four goals on 35 shots in a loss to Pittsburgh in the Capitals' opener. With Lindgren set to return, Hunter Shepard has been sent back to AHL Hershey.
OCTOBER 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out Friday Lindgren (upper body) will not play Friday against the Wild, Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental Sports Network reports.
Impact Lindgren was a full participant in the morning skate, but he will get a little more time to heal up. Hunter Shepard will continue to back up Darcy Kuemper in the interim.
OCTOBER 27, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to ice Lindgren (upper body) was on the ice prior to Monday's practice, Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental Network reports.
Impact Lindgren was spotted doing individual skills work prior to the official start of Monday's practice. The 29-year-old's remains without a clear timeline to return to game action, so expect a heavy dose of Darcy Kuemper -- with Clay Stevenson backing up -- in the short term.

Placed on IR Lindgren (upper body) was put on injured reserve by Washington on Thursday.
Impact Lindgren was hurt during Monday's morning skate and has missed two contests as a result. He started in the Capitals' season opener, stopping 31 of 35 shots in a 4-0 loss to Pittsburgh. With Lindgren unavailable, Clay Stevenson is serving as Darcy Kuemper's understudy.
OCTOBER 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Not going on trip Lindgren (upper body) won't be available for Washington's upcoming two-game road trip, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
Impact Lindgren, who sat out Monday's 3-2 shootout win over Calgary after getting injured during the morning skate, will miss Wednesday's contest against Ottawa and Saturday's matchup with Montreal. Clay Stevenson will continue to serve as Darcy Kuemper's backup during Lindgren's absence.

Unavailable Monday Lindgren (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup Monday against Calgary.
Impact Lindgren is considered day-to-day after being injured during Washington's morning skate Monday. Clay Stevenson has been recalled from AHL Hershey to serve as Darcy Kuemper's backup.
OCTOBER 16, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Status unclear for Monday Lindgren (undisclosed) left the morning skate early and it's unclear if he will be available to suit up in Monday's game against Calgary, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact Darcy Kuemper is expected to start Monday against the Flames after missing Washington's season opener Friday versus Pittsburgh due to the birth of his first child. However, it's unclear if Lindgren will be available to serve as the backup netminder. If Lindgren can't play, Clay Stevenson might be brought back up as an emergency option.
OCTOBER 16, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Solid in opening game defeat Lindgren stopped 31 of the 35 shots he faced in Friday's 4-0 setback against the Penguins.
Impact Despite the rather lopsided score, the Lakeville, Minn. native did a good job in between the pipes with Darcy Kuemper away from the team for personal reasons. Two of the four goals Lindgren allowed were power-play goals off the stick of Sidney Crosby, and none of the goals allowed can be considered bad ones. The Caps will look to bounce back Monday against the Flames.
OCTOBER 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Starting season opener Lindgren will protect the home goal Friday versus the Penguins, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact Lindgren draws the start in the season opener because Darcy Kuemper is with his family after welcoming a new baby. The 29-year-old Lindgren held down a backup role in 2022-23, posting a 13-11-3 record with a 3.05 GAA and an .899 save percentage in 31 contests.
OCTOBER 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Clear for training camp Lindgren (upper body) is listed as healthy on the Capitals' training camp roster released Tuesday.
Impact Lindgren missed some time late in 2022-23 with the injury, but it was never expected to keep him out of action to begin this season. The 29-year-old enters 2023-24 as Darcy Kuemper's presumptive backup. Lindgren played in a career-high 31 contests a year ago and should see similar usage, giving him some late-round fantasy appeal in deep formats.
SEPTEMBER 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Not dressing Thursday Lindgren (undisclosed) will not dress for the final game of the season Thursday versus Washington.
Impact Lindgren was injured Tuesday versus Boston. He will end the season with a 13-11-3 record. His peripherals were mediocre this season as he had a 3.05 GAA and .899 save percentage. Lindgren still has another two seasons on his contract, so look for him to return next season as the backup to Darcy Kuemper.
APRIL 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Injury not considered serious Lindgren will miss Thursday's season finale against the Devils with an upper-body issue, but his injury isn't believed to be serious, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
Impact Lindgren will finish the campaign having gone 13-11-3 while posting a 3.05 GAA and an .899 save percentage through 31 appearances. It wouldn't be surprising to see the 29-year-old netminder post similar numbers while serving as Washington's No. 2 netminder behind Darcy Kuemper in 2023-24.

Leaves with injury Lindgren (undisclosed) left Tuesday's game versus the Bruins in the third period, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact Lindgren made a couple of big saves but appeared to injure himself on the play. He exited after 45:21 of ice time, stopping 33 of 36 shots, though the Capitals were down 3-1 when he left. With just one game left on the Capitals' schedule, he may be shut down for the remainder of the year.
APRIL 11, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Starting on Tuesday Lindgren will protect the road goal Tuesday versus the Bruins, Mike Vogel of the Capitals' official site reports.
Impact Lindgren will handle the second half of a back-to-back after Darcy Kuemper won versus the Islanders on Monday. It's unclear if this will be Lindgren's last appearance of the season. He's lost his last three outings (0-2-1), surrendering 15 goals over that span, and even an injury-cautious Bruins team is still an intimidating opponent.

Impact Lindgren last played March 21, giving up seven goals on 39 shots in a 7-6 overtime loss to lowly Columbus. Lindgren is 13-9-3 with a 3.02 GAA and .898 save percentage. He will look for some redemption Saturday against the Panthers, who have won five games in a row.
APRIL 8, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Best game of 2023 not enough Lindgren made 33 saves in a 4-2 loss to Florida on Saturday. He allowed three goals.
Impact Lindgren was sharp Saturday -- there's no other way to put it. But he eventually broke after the kitties outshot the Caps 18-3 in the third period. Matthew Tkachuk scored his 40th goal with just one minute remaining to push the score to 3-2 and an empty-net goal finished the game. It was Lindgren's best game in 2023 and it could earn him the start in one of the Caps remaining three games.
APRIL 8, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
