Impact Lindgren will miss his fourth straight game. Clay Stevenson will start against the Blue Jackets, and Logan Thompson will serve as the backup. Lindgren will conclude the 2025-26 campaign with a 9-8-3 record, one shutout, a 3.52 GAA and an .879 save percentage in 21 appearances.

Still day-to-day Lindgren (upper body) won't be in the lineup for Sunday's home matchup against Pittsburgh, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact Lindgren is still day-to-day and will miss his third straight game. He has posted a 9-8-3 record with one shutout, a 3.52 GAA and an .879 save percentage in 21 appearances this season. Clay Stevenson will be Logan Thompson's backup against the Penguins on Sunday.

Remains shelved Saturday Lindgren (upper body) will not play in Saturday's road clash against the Penguins, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.
Impact Despite logging a full practice during Saturday's morning skate, Lindgren will cede the backup role to Mitchell Gibson while the prior works back towards one hundred percent. The 32-year-old Lindgren has appeared in just three games since the Olympic break while Logan Thompson has handled the majority of starts. Lindgren has struggled across 21 appearances this season and will look to work back into the lineup before the end of the regular season.

Questionable for Saturday Lindgren (upper body) partook in a full practice Friday and is questionable for Saturday's tilt in Pittsburgh, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
Impact Lindgren was pummeled Sunday, allowing eight goals on 33 shots in an 8-1 loss to the Rangers. It was his first action since March 12 and the netminder was not in uniform Wednesday against the Maple Leafs. Head coach Spencer Carbary said Friday that Lindgren was still day-to-day. He is 9-8-2 with a 3.52 GAA and an .879 save percentage across 21 games this season.

Not suiting up Wednesday Lindgren (undisclosed) won't be in uniform for Wednesday's game versus the Maple Leafs, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact Lindgren took a maintenance day Tuesday and was under evaluation, and it appears that led to him needing to be out of the lineup for at least a game. It's not yet clear if Lindgren will be able to suit up in either game of the Capitals' home-and-home set versus the Penguins.

Torched in loss to Rangers Lindgren stopped 24 of 32 shots in Sunday's 8-1 loss to the Rangers.
Impact Lindgren was playing for the first time since March 12, and the rust showed after serving as Logan Thompson's understudy for 10 straight games. This is a tough game for the Capitals to drop, as it makes their path to the playoffs that much tougher, and it will likely lead to Lindgren returning to the pine for at least three of the last four regular-season games. Lindgren is down to 9-8-3 with a 3.52 GAA and an .879 save percentage over 21 appearances this season. The Capitals' next game is Wednesday in Toronto.

First start in awhile Lindgren will get the start Sunday against the Rangers, Mike Vogel of the Capitals' official site reports.
Impact It's the first start in awhile for Lindgren, who hasn't seen action since of any kind since Mar 12. Logan Thompson has started 10 straight games, but the Capitals haven't seen any back-to-backs over that time. With Sunday being the second of a back-to-back, Lindgren returns to the crease. The 32-year-old will seek his third win of the season against the Rangers, 24th in the NHL at 2.83 goals per game.

Sharp in Thursday's win Lindgren turned aside 29 shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Sabres.
Impact Washington was out-shot 30-22, but Lindgren was able to steal a road win by slamming the door shut after allowing a Sam Carrick goal early in the first period. It was the first time Lindgren had given up fewer than three goals in an outing since Dec. 3, and on the season the veteran netminder is 9-7-3 with a 3.29 GAA and .886 save percentage.

Guarding goal Thursday Lindgren will protect the road goal versus the Sabres on Thursday, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact Lindgren is set for the second half of the back-to-back after Logan Thompson took the loss Wednesday versus the Flyers. Lindgren will be making just his second start since the Olympic break. He allowed four goals on 23 shots versus the Canadiens on Feb. 28, and a tough matchup against the Sabres doesn't bode well for Lindgren turning things around.
MARCH 12 • ROTOWIRE
Gives up four goals Lindgren stopped 19 of 23 shots in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Canadiens. The other two goals were empty-netters.
Impact Lindgren was beaten twice in the first frame and twice more in the second. By the time Montreal added a fifth goal, he was already on the bench while the Capitals were trying to find a late equalizer. This was Lindgren's first appearance since Jan. 29, when he earned the win in a 4-3 victory over the Red Wings after stopping 18 of 21 shots. He's firmly entrenched as the backup behind Logan Thompson, so he's expected to see minimal playing time in the foreseeable future.

Starter for Saturday Lindgren will patrol the visiting crease in Montreal on Saturday, Tarik El-Bashir of Monumental Sports Network reports.
Impact Lindgren will make his first start since Jan. 29, when he stopped 18 shots in a 4-3 win in Detroit. Lindgren is 8-6-3 with a 3.37 GAA and an .884 save percentage over 18 outings this season. The Canadiens are fourth in NHL scoring, averaging 3.45 goals per game in 2025-26.
