Sharp in Thursday's win Lindgren turned aside 29 shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Sabres.
Impact Washington was out-shot 30-22, but Lindgren was able to steal a road win by slamming the door shut after allowing a Sam Carrick goal early in the first period. It was the first time Lindgren had given up fewer than three goals in an outing since Dec. 3, and on the season the veteran netminder is 9-7-3 with a 3.29 GAA and .886 save percentage.

Guarding goal Thursday Lindgren will protect the road goal versus the Sabres on Thursday, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact Lindgren is set for the second half of the back-to-back after Logan Thompson took the loss Wednesday versus the Flyers. Lindgren will be making just his second start since the Olympic break. He allowed four goals on 23 shots versus the Canadiens on Feb. 28, and a tough matchup against the Sabres doesn't bode well for Lindgren turning things around.

Gives up four goals Lindgren stopped 19 of 23 shots in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Canadiens. The other two goals were empty-netters.
Impact Lindgren was beaten twice in the first frame and twice more in the second. By the time Montreal added a fifth goal, he was already on the bench while the Capitals were trying to find a late equalizer. This was Lindgren's first appearance since Jan. 29, when he earned the win in a 4-3 victory over the Red Wings after stopping 18 of 21 shots. He's firmly entrenched as the backup behind Logan Thompson, so he's expected to see minimal playing time in the foreseeable future.

Practices, feels good to go Lindgren (lower body) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice and feels ready to return to the lineup, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact Lindgren sat out four straight games before the Olympic break. However, he is trending toward being available to suit up in Washington's home matchup against Philadelphia on Feb. 25. Assuming he is good to go, Lindgren will come off the injured reserve list, and the Capitals will probably return Garin Bjorklund to AHL Hershey.

Gets helped off ice after win Lindgren sustained an apparent lower-body injury at the end of overtime in Thursday's 4-3 shootout win over the Red Wings, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
Impact Lindgren shook off the injury long enough to perform in the shootout, but he needed assistance from his teammates to exit the ice at the end. The 32-year-old's injury comes at a bad time, as Logan Thompson (upper body) was not available Thursday. Lindgren's status wasn't updated after the game, leaving the Capitals' goaltending situation murky heading into Saturday's home game versus the Hurricanes. With the win, Lindgren improved to 8-6-3 with a 3.37 GAA and an .884 save percentage over 18 appearances.

Although the Red Wings are coming off a 3-1 loss to Los Angeles on Tuesday, Detroit is still 13-4-2 across its past 19 games.

Can't hold Oilers back Lindgren stopped 34 of 40 shots in Saturday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Oilers.
Impact Lindgren actually had a better game than the numbers suggest, but the Oilers' top players were in top form Saturday. The Capitals weren't able to build more than a one-goal lead at any point, and three of those slipped away in the third period before Connor McDavid won it in overtime for Edmonton. Lindgren has allowed 14 goals on 105 shots during his three-game losing streak (0-2-1). He's at a 7-6-3 record with a 3.41 GAA and an .885 save percentage through 17 appearances this season. Logan Thompson is likely to be back between the pipes Tuesday in Seattle.
