Mark Jankowski - Deals helper in loss Jankowski notched an assist in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Bruins.
Impact Jankowski set up an Alexander Nikishin tally in the third period. This was Jankowski's first point in six appearances this season. The 31-year-old has filled a part-time role so far, but the Hurricanes' numerous injuries have opened the door for him to get fourth-line minutes in the last four contests. He's supplied four shots on net, four blocked shots, two hits and two PIM and should continue to serve primarily as a defensive forward.

Charlie McAvoy - Adds two helpers Saturday McAvoy registered two assists, two hits and three blocked shots in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Hurricanes.
Impact McAvoy helped out on goals by Casey Mittelstadt and Viktor Arvidsson early in the third period. This was McAvoy's third multi-assist game in his last six outings. The veteran defenseman has yet to score a goal but has produced 10 helpers, 19 shots on net, 23 hits, 23 blocks, 22 PIM and a minus-3 rating through 14 appearances. He had a modest 23 points in 50 regular-season games in 2024-25 before a season-ending shoulder injury, but McAvoy looks to be all the way back in 2025-26.

Noel Gunler - Produces three helpers for Wolves Gunler recorded three assists in AHL Chicago's 4-1 win over Toronto on Saturday.
Impact This was Gunler's first big game of the year for the Wolves. He's now at one goal and four helpers through six outings. The 24-year-old winger had just 26 points in 58 regular-season games. Even with a number of injuries on the Hurricanes' NHL roster, Gunler shouldn't be considered close to a call-up, as he hasn't shown enough offense compared to the team's other prospects.

Alexander Nikishin - Star in making Nikishin scored a goal Saturday in a 2-1 loss to Boston.
Impact He wired a slap shot from the slot late in the third period with the extra skater on the ice. Nikishin has a goal and assist in his last two games and six (two goals, four assists) with 21 shots and a plus-10 rating in 11 contests so far. He's already in the hunt for the Calder Trophy as best rookie -- he's in the Canes' top D-pairing, and on PP2. Nikishin is a star in the making.
